"Doctor."

The Scottish lilt is wrong, like a half-forgotten memory.

"Jamie."

The name is said in a breathless tone - used in disbelief. Because this is downright impossible.

The boy with the Scottish lilt wears a kilt and a tight black turtleneck, which is right. But the face isn't quite right.

He would like to say that he would recognise Jamie's nose anywhere, that yes, that has to be his nose. It isn't though.

The nose is a little bit too small, and the upper lip is way too big.

Even his hair is different, not so reminiscent of the Beatles.

The hand that has reached up to caress his cheek is rather soft - Jamie's hands weren't soft at all. The highlander had always complained that he didn't trust the modern day products.

The too-small-nose hits his own nose, which is just the same as always, as Jamie stands on his tiptoes, mouth getting closer and closer.

He makes to stop the kilt-clad boy but his lips are already upon his own and it feels like he has always imagined it would.

The kiss is a little bit rough because that was just how his companion was, having just come out of a war.

It's also very clingy - Jamie's hands groping at his arms like they always did when they were running from some kind of alien, or even when the Scottish boy just felt like it.

It feels unreal, like an illusion or a dream that he has always wanted to come true.

It feels like a half-forgotten memory.

He feels a ghostly whisper on his lips.

The room is empty.

The words 'that's because it is' ring in his head.

I came up with this when I was in the car earlier! Just in case you haven't noticed, the last line refers to the line 'It feels like a long forgotten memory.'.

I'm sorry for making your day depressing by the way.
It's not letting me upload this, be prepared to wait. Except don't because by time you've read this there won't be a wait.

I had to change the format, so if anyone notices any mistakes can they mention it?
