He felt her weight fall from his back. His eyes fell towards the mountains, the sound of freedom emanating from them. He gave one quick glance towards home, towards the ranch. The sounds of a silent battle rang in his head. The sights of an invisible battle flashed in his mind's eye. The only clue to his mental predicament was the look of worry playing across his face. His troubled snorts pierced the relative quiet of the day. An intangible force, akin to magnetism, sent chilling shocks through his body. He tilted his head, inhaled deeply, and ran to freedom.
