A/N- This is my first story so if you see something you don't like, something you do like, or you just wanna give me some advice, you can always leave a review. You can be as harsh as you want cuz I don't exactly expect my first story to be amazing. I guess I'll just get better as I keep writing.
New Friends?
When is that bloody owl going to come?! If they sent an owl as soon as they got there like they said they would, it would've been here by now!
Hermione walked around the common room, frustrated and worried at the same time. Ron and Harry had promised to send an owl as soon as they reached Switzerland. Ron's parents had asked Hermione is she wanted to go with them for Christmas vacation as well, but Hermione decided that she'd rather stay at Hogwarts. She had tons of work to do anyways. Usually she stayed with her parents for vacations, but her parents had gone to visit a sick friend. Now she was stuck in the Gryffindor common room, bored, tired, worried, and alone.
As soon as they get back, I'm gonna murder them for getting me so worried.
Hermione sat down in an armchair in front of one of the many windows in the common room, cursing under her breath. She had no idea what time it was but she was already feeling tired. She decided to go up to the Girl's dormitory and just wait until breakfast the next morning………
THE NEXT MORNING
"Oi!! Hermione!! GRANGER!!" Hermione turned at the entrance to the Great Hall to see who was screaming her name so loudly. As soon as she turned around she found herself face to face with Elizabeth Gallaway, a Slytherin prefect who she had met on the train. Behind Elizabeth was Elizabeth's best friend, Jalyssa Anderson, another Slytherin in the same year. Personally, Hermione disliked Slytherins because of their stuck-up attitudes, but something about Elizabeth and Jalyssa was different. The way Elizabeth and Jalyssa were smiling at her made it seem like they actually might want to be friends with her………………
Well it's worth a try. They seem friendly enough.
"Hey Elizabeth and Jalyssa. I'm surprised that you're talking to me, but I'm even more surprised that you're actually smiling at me!! It's not everyday that you see a Slytherin and a Gryffindor smiling at each other," Hermione said to Elizabeth.
"Well I guess when Jalyssa and I met you on the train we liked you. I didn't want a stupid rivalry between houses to keep us from being friends. So anyway, Jalyssa and I wanted to know if you wanted to walk around in the courtyard after you finish your breakfast," Elizabeth replied.
"Um well, I'll think about it and tell you when I'm done eating," Hermione replied uncertainly. Was that sparkle in Elizabeth's eye and Jalyssa's somewhat honest smile really all true?
"OK!! Guess we'll talk to you later. Come on Jalyssa," Elizabeth smiled and walked to the Slytherin table with Jalyssa.
A/N: I kinda think that the first chapter kinda sucks. But anyway, I'm probably gonna have a second chapter ready soon, but I won't put it up until people say that they actually wanna read it. If you are wondering what's gonna happened next, I promise you that the second chapter will be longer and way more interesting. Don't forget to review!! I appreciate all advice and comments.
