Hey everyone! I know it's been a really long time since I posted, and I'm really sorry that I haven't posted on TLG! I promise that I haven't abandoned it, but this was written for a school assignment. I also have really bad writer's block on TLG, so there's that. I will get back to posting soon though! Renegades belongs to Marissa Meyer, not me.

Hugh Everhart glanced up from the book he was reading, only for his gaze to be met by smoldering dark eyes. Simon Westwood's lips curved into a smile as he caught Hugh's gaze lingering on him for what must have been the tenth time in the same amount of minutes. Hugh was sure that his face was a brilliant shade of red as he attempted to turn his attention back to his book. Despite his best efforts, his mind remained occupied by Simon. Hugh mentally cursed himself again. We're part of a team! I can't be falling for him!

As though he could sense his thoughts, Simon blushed slightly before turning back to the paper he was doodling on. Hugh sighed quietly, but didn't say anything. He didn't realize that his eyes were following Simon's pen, until said person laughed quietly and tilted his paper up for Hugh to see.

"Wanna see?" Simon offered, smiling. Hugh blushed as he reached out to take the paper. If possible, his cheeks turned even redder when their fingers brushed slightly. It took a minute for his eyes to clear of the pink haze that they filled with whenever he saw Simon, but when they did, Hugh was speechless. The drawing of the paper was of a man reading, with his head tilted forward and pieces of hair falling forward, obscuring his face. Even so, it was clear that the picture was of Hugh.

"W-what do you think?" Simon asked quietly, twisting his hands in his lap. Hugh looked between the paper and Simon, smiling. Finally, he said, "What do I think? It's amazing!" Simon blushed pink, a shy smile on his lips.

"Thanks," he whispered. Hugh reached out to hand the paper back to Simon, but said man pushed the paper back to him. "You keep it. I was going to give it to you eventually." Hugh gently leaned forward to place it on the small table opposite them before sitting back down. The familiar green couch was a cozy nook, but today, Hugh couldn't help but feel that it was slightly romantic. He also couldn't help the fact that his heart was speeding up as Simon scooted closer to him. Letting out a sigh, the man who would become known as the Dread Warren let his head fall onto Hugh's shoulder. Almost instinctively, Hugh's arm came up to wrap around Simon's shoulder.

"I've been meaning to talk to you," Simon began, his voice barely above a whisper. "About...something." When Hugh finally spoke, his voice was low as well. "About what?" Simon didn't answer with words, but with actions. He tilted his head up and ever so gently fitted his lips to Hugh's. After a moment, Simon pulled away with a sigh. He must have noticed the shocked look on Hugh's face, because his face went white.

"I...did I overstep?" He worried. "I-I'm sorr-" Hugh interrupted his apology by leaning forward and capturing the brunet's lips in a searing kiss. His hands cupped Simon's face, pulling the boy even closer. Simon's arms went to hang around Hugh's neck, not pulling him closer, but just holding him. When the pair finally parted, they were both breathless. They stared at each other for a minute before Hugh finally spoke. "Is this a good time to tell you that I've been in love with you for months?" Simon stared at him for a moment before giggling.

"I guess I'm going to have to say that I've been head over heels for you since we met," he said. The boys gazed affectionately at each other, but it only lasted a minute before Hugh pulled Simon in for another kiss.
