He watched from afar.

The way his eyes lit up as she walked towards him. They way he smiled as she spoke.

Those smiles should be for me, he thought.
It's not fair.

He'd love her from the moment he first saw her.

Her.

She had to come; she came and ruined what he held close to his heart.

No more fooling around, no more pulling pranks. No more late night music sessions, no more movie nights. No more sneaking glances as they produced, looking for each others reactions. No more of this, no more of that.
It's all just a faint memory to him.

His heart aches.

She's pretty ugly, Thomas. You sure you want to go up to her?
That was probably the jealousy talking.

Don't say that Guy, she's not that bad looking. No one is.
She was beautiful, in other words.

At that, he left. They started spending more time, while we spent less and less. I hardly saw him, except when there was something regarding one of our songs. But, even then it's not much, he always ends up leaving half way, remembering some "dinner date" they've planned.

Sorry Guy, I can't keep her waiting! One day you'll find a girl you love and then you'll understand, he would exclaim as he rushed out the door.

If you say so, Thomas.

When did I start loving you, Thomas? I asked, seemingly nonchalant as I glanced at the priest. It was a good day for a ceremony.

Guy, what are you saying? He paused, mouth hanging open. He's probably thinking of a clever response.

I don't know, I've always been irresistible, right?

Right.
