Mycroft was sitting in his office working. It was late at night on Christmas Eve and he was working. Molly had told him she would wait up for him until he got home. He sighed. It didn't look like he was going to make it home any time soon. Anthea came into the office, typing on her blackberry.
"Sir, there is an important individual here for you."
"Send them in." Mycroft said. "Then go home. I can handle it here."
"Yes, Sir." Anthea left.
"Look at my hardworking man."
Mycroft looked up. Molly was standing in the doorway with a bag.
"Molly, what are you doing here? I have a very important person here Anthea is sending in." Mycroft said.
Molly smiled and raised her hand. "Very important person is standing right here. Anthea arranged it for me. She called to tell me you were stuck here, so I brought food to you. It's not traditional because I messed up the ham, so it's lasagna, salad, garlic bread, and let's not forget the wine."
Mycroft smiled and stood up to greet her with a kiss. "You messed up the ham then? Is the kitchen still intact?"
Molly giggled. "The kitchen is fine."
"That's good. Would it be selfish to say I'm glad you're here?" Mycroft asked.
"I think I can overlook your selfishness just this once." Molly clapped her hands in excitement. "I brought you your present." She went searching in the bag and pulled out a big package.
"What is it?"
"If I told you it would ruin the surprise. Open it." Molly said.
He opened the package and saw a leather bound book.
"It's all of Shakespeare's sonnets. I know you love his works and you didn't have those, so I got a little help from Sherlock and got this. Do you like it?"
"Yes. I love it." Mycroft gave Molly a kiss. "Thank you. Now, it's my turn to give you your present."
"Okay." Molly said.
"Molly, since we met I knew you were special. You understand me in ways not even my brother can, and I love everything about you, so-" Mycroft got down on one knee. Molly brought her hands to her mouth. "Molly Elizabeth Hooper, will you marry me?"
"Yes, Mycroft. Yes." Molly was crying. He slid the ring on her finger and stood up. He hugged her and kissed her softly. "This is the best Christmas ever."
