Dark

A/N: This is only meant to be a one shot showing Rose's fear of life without the Doctor and anyone else. It was just something I had to write for English.

She had a dream. The same dream she'd been having for years. Black room, cobwebs and not an ounce of moonlight. Darkness dripping around her, waiting, as if it was going to attack. It was a ghost, slipping through her fingers; invisible and it was scaring her half to death. She'd had this dream for 19 years, every night before her birthday. In the dream, the darkness would fade, and then she'd wake up, but when she met the Doctor, the light grew stronger, and stronger, until her 20th birthday when the darkness became no more and she was engulfed in light. And she saw death, death and destruction, the Time War; the Dalek army on satellite five when she'd lost her Doctor forever. The earth being destroyed by the sun, just death. And Rose just sat there sitting on the moon watching it all as life was extinguished and she became all that is all that was and all that will be.

Rose awoke in a cold sweat in the TARDIS, snuggling under the covers she recounted the dream and knew it would be her last; she'd discovered her fate or the fate of the universe. Rose stood up and opened the window, dawn, not quite light, and not quite dark, Rose's new favourite time of the day.
