Cammie POV

Today is the worst day of the year. Today is the day my mom and I spend eating ice cream, crying, and watching movies.

Today is my dad's birthday.

My mom had to go on a top secret mission to god knows where, and she wouldn't be here for the worst day ever. I had told my friends that I wasn't feeling well (which was true) and I was just going to stay in bed. I was currently sitting in my mom's office, on her couch, bawling my eyes out and eating ice cream out of a giant tub. I was about to start the James Bond movie I had put in when the door opened. Mr. Soloman stood there for 17 seconds before coming in and shutting the door. As soon as the door was shut, he let his impassive mask fall off his face. He was no longer my hot Cov Ops teacher, he was my father's best friend. His face was sad, his eyes were filled with unshed tears, but his eyes were the worst. They were filled with the pain and sorrow of a lost best friend. He walked over to me and pulled me into a hug. That's when we both completely lost it and started sobbing.

"Why did my mom have to be gone today?" I asked him.

"I don't know."

After we had settled down, we both changed into some of my dad's old clothes. I was wearing his shorts and a t-shirt he had, Soloman was wearing his sweatshirt and one of his hats. We laid down on the couch with each other, picked up the tub of triple chocolate fudge, and pressed play on the movie. At some point we must've fallen asleep because I woke up to the screams of my best friends. I looked up at the door to see Bex, Liz, Macey, and Tina all with shocked expressions on their faces. Tina was the one who screamed. After 32 seconds I finally realized why they were shocked. I was asleep on top of Mr. Soloman, wearing boy's clothes. I blushed as I sat up. Mr. Soloman had woken up to the screams as well and was looking kind of embarrassed.

"Care to explain?" Macey asked me.

"Umm… well first I don't have that kind of relationship with Mr. Soloman. Second, today is a bad day for both of us and he sort of found me and I guess we fell asleep," I explained.

Realization dawned on their faces as they registered what I said.

"Aw! Cammie I'm sooooo sorry! I can't believe we forgot what today was!" Bex screamed as they all ran over and tackled me in a bear hug.

"It's ok guys."

THE END.
