Depth Perception
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kakashi squinted a little, shifted his hand a bit farther to the right, cocked his arm back, and let the kunai fly straight at the center of the trees.
THUNK!
It hit a little left of center, just as the previous fifty had. In fact, it had hit one of the previous kunai and had shattered it with the force of impact, leaving him one kunai short of a full set.
Shaking his head, Kakashi realized that Obito would have told him that he was a few things short of several sets, and rubbed his eye. It was constantly itching and tearing up, a remnant of its previous owner. The scratchy material of the hitai-ate did nothing to help his problem, either.
Barely suppressing frustration, he picked a shuriken from his holster and cocked his arm back again. Shuriken had a tendency to fly straighter than kunai because they lacked the diamond shape that was so prone to instability, so maybe he would be able to hit center with the throwing stars. He aimed again and let the shuriken fly.
THUNK! Left of center again.
"You're not adjusting for a lack of depth perception."
Hiding his surprise, Kakashi sullenly turned to face his teacher, resenting the grin present on the Yellow Flash's face.
"I've never missed the center on a kunai throw. Ever," Kakashi said in response, the barely-masked frustration evident in his voice. His teacher's grin widened a little more, and he picked up two kunai from the ground. He stopped, aimed, and threw one. It, of course, hit right in the center of the target, and Kakashi sulked a little more.
Then the Yellow Flash took a bandana out of his pocket and tied it over his left eye. Palming the second kunai, he took aim and let it fly again.
THUNK! Dead center.
Smiling in satisfaction, Kakashi's teacher turned to face him. "You're adjusting while you aim, but not while you throw. Mentally you can calculate the adjustment needed, but your muscles remember the throw differently and compensate for that independently of your brain, no matter how much you change your original aim. Force your muscles to throw a little right of center as you throw, not just before." With that, the Yellow Flash left, probably to go help Rin with whatever she was doing.
Scowling beneath his mask, Kakashi turned towards the target again and picked up another shuriken. Taking aim again, he let it fly, careful this time to force his arm to throw off its usual path.
THUNK! Right of center.
'Progress.'

A/N: So...yes. I was bored and reading Kakashi Gaiden, and I decided to write this because I thought "hey, it would really suck having to adjust to throwing shit without being able to see out of both eyes." So Depth Perception was born. Meh.
This may or may not turn into a multi-chapter series of ONE SHOTS. They probably won't be connected.
Oh, and this lack of line rules is REALLY annoying.
