Angst. Very slight, but still there. Please read and review. I feel kind of bad for not updating all summer so I worked my but off all week and came up with all these stories for you guys. I go back to school tommorow, so wish me luck!

Broken

Hiruma had been the one to find him that day. Bloodied and bruised in alleyway the white snow around him stained red. He'd stayed with Sena in ambulance and held his hand when he regained consciousness halfway to the hospital. It was five hours before they were supposed to play in the

Christmas Bowl when Sena had been attacked by an Oujo fan. He had several bruised ribs, and the man had purposefully broken his leg.

Hiruma called the team and told them the circumstances. Neither he or Sena would be there to play, but he assured them that Sena did not want them to drop out of the game, they had worked so hard for it. He was sending over two replacement players, and then promptly hung up. Just as he did a nurse approached him and said that his friend had just come out of surgery and was resting comfortably in his room. His injuries weren't serious so he wouldn't need to spend time in the ICU. She said that he would be waking up soon and that he could go see the boy if he liked. Hiruma decided to do just that, and quickly stalked to the boys room. 0021. He grimaced. What a sick joke.

Sena came to a half hour later to the sounds of the television reporting something and a vicious ache in his leg and side. He opened his eyes slowly trying to adjust to the light. What had happened?

"Good to see you awake, fucking chibi." Sena turned towards the sound of the voice and was surprised to see Hiruma sitting by his bedside, managing to look comfortable in the plastic chair.

"Touchdown!" Both of them turned their attention towards the television as machine gun Sanada cried out with enthusiasm. "The Oujou White Knights have scored again on the Deimon Devil Bats. With the absence of their ace running back and demonic team captain, Deimon is obviously suffering."

"Damn bastards. They've been playing like crap the whole time."

"Hiruma-san, why aren't you there with them? I told you..."

"Because."

And in the end, Hiruma was the one who held him as he cried. So Hiruma stayed with him, and they both watched as their team that had grown over the months and become so strong was crushed. The team couldn't put their heart into the game that day. How could they when it wasn't on the field with them?

As life and school began to take over their lives once more, the team visited Sena less often. But Hiruma came everyday and made Sena get up and move around. His ribs were healed enough for him to use crutches and staying in bed was unhealthy. When the cast came off, it was Hiruma who pushed him to work harder at physical therapy. He drilled him as if they were back in football practice. Sena often wondered why the blonde was doing this for him. There was no benefit that he could see for Hiruma. It wasn't until he was better and Hiruma shoved him against a wall and kissed him that he understood.

"It was your victory, Sena. You deserved to be there, without you we never would have made it this far."

Understood why Hiruma stayed, why he pushed, why he would never leave.
