Ginny's Happy Ending

If it's not happy, then it's not the end*

Having Ginevra's wedding was one of the most nerve-wrecking events of Molly's life. She almost couldn't stand the tension. It was the fairy-tale's-happily-ever-after ending for every one. The entire Wizengamots and almost all witches and wizards around the world wanted to come to the wedding of Harry Potter. Not only that, the Centaurs, the Merpeople, the Houselves, and all magical creatures pleaded to be invited. Molly was almost hysterical when Hagrid was seriously considering bringing Grawp and several of their Giant cousins to the wedding.

And then, on the eve of the wedding day, after those horrible soon-to-be-in-laws - the Dursleys - came, Ginny was missing. Hermione panicked and almost had Ron called his AT—Alpha Team—Aurors, for search and rescue mission.

But then, surprisingly, despite all of the mounting tension, Molly calmed down. She went out of the chaotic house and walked to the hidden side of the barn. Molly smiled sympathetically when she found her only daughter sobbing there.

"Hiding, now, aren't we?" Molly sat and hugged her crying daughter. Ginny's sob was getting louder and Molly rocked her as if she was a baby. "There, there, Ginny… Tell mommy, now. What's wrong?"

"It's Petunia, Mum. It's Harry's aunt. It's… it's the wedding… It's… It's everything… Everything is wrong! I think I'll call off the wedding. I'm so not ready for this!" Ginny choked on her tears.

"Oh, baby… everything's gonna be fine." Molly kissed her forehead.

"No, nothing's fine! It's not the dress that I wanted… it's not the bouquet that I liked… not the… not the wedding … not even the happily ever after that I wanted. It's the people's scenario of happily-ever-after. Not mine. And I don't want it!" Ginny wailed. Molly was quiet for a moment, waiting till her daughter tantrum decreased, then she softly whispered.

"But Harry's the one that you want, isn't he?" silence ensued. A brief nod made Molly smile. "And he made you happy, right?" another nod. "So, who cares about other people's happy ending?"

"But I'm not happy now, Mummy" Ginny croaked.

"Oh, Dear," Molly sighed. She lifted Ginny's chin and wiped her warm tears. "When I and your father eloped, it wasn't the wedding of our dreams either." Ginny's eyes widen.

"But you are a happy couple!" She accused. Molly laughed and felt her own tears started to glide down her cheeks.

"There were times when I or your father didn't feel happy, my love. But then, we always think, 'we always wanted a happy ending. So when all the things don't make us happy, then it's certain that's not the end'. And here we are. " She kissed Ginny's fore head and smiled softly. "Now, ask yourself, what you want."

Ginny was startled. A moment passed for a while, and then a glitter of hope finally shimmered in her blue eyes. "I want my own happy ending." Ginny said determinedly. Molly chuckled and hugged her. She released Ginny and wiped her own tears.

"Well then, we'd better get it started." Molly said cheerfully.

A/N: I made this as a flash back to Harry's remarks mentioned in the beginning of my "A Bestman, A Maid of Honour, and Two Silent Prayers".
