Happy Valentine's Day! :)

A Valentine from Elvis

Elvis had left for the day, early as usual. Georgie finished her morning routine and was planning to head out to do some shopping. She had a particular item in mind that she wanted to purchase today and the recipient thankfully would not be the wiser. Until tonight.

Georgie was never the romantic type. Not until Elvis came into her life. Of all the men she ever met, military or civilian, Elvis was the last man she ever thought would have the most endearing romantic heart.

As she made her way to the end table where she left her purse, she noticed something red sticking up from the zippered opening. She stopped dead in her tracks. He is unreal!

He left her a card. A Valentine's Day card.

He never said a word. He kissed her goodbye. And snuck that damn card in her purse on his way out the door. She could just imagine his face as he closed the door, knowing she would be surprised. He loved doing that to her.

She plucked the card from the purse and sat down on the sofa. As expected, he had a drawn heart with cupid's arrow shooting through it. He addressed it to: "My Georgie"

Georgie carefully opened the envelope, not wanting to ruin the drawing. This was definitely a keeper – their first Valentine's Day as a married couple. She sat up straight and pulled the card out of the envelope. It was stunning – one of those old-fashioned Valentine cards that opened up into a three-dimensional scene, hearts and doves and everything romantic.

The card was beautiful, but what he had written inside was priceless:

"My darling Georgie you must know

My love for you just grows and grows.

From the very first moment you came into my life,

To the day you said you would be my wife.

We've had our ups and downs for sure,

But a love like ours will always endure.

Forever and always you will have my heart,

Forever my love, even after we part"

Georgie sat there and read the poem over and over. She almost could not contain the enormity of the love she felt for Elvis. Yes it made her cry. Yes he was always and forever, the only one for her.
