Not So Super

"Jane, I have something to tell you," Daria said, looking away.

Jane smirked. "If it involves closets, we're going to have a problem."

"I have a superpower." Daria just blurted it out, wanting to finally confess to someone.

A short laugh was her only reply. There was an awkward pause as Jane noticed Daria's miserable expression. "You're not kidding. Why didn't you tell me before?"

Daria shrugged, but an embarrassed flush crept over her cheeks.

Once the initial shock was over, Jane began to get excited. "So what is it? Flight? Heat vision? Tell me you can be invisible, we could do so much with that!"

Daria shook her head. Taking a deep breath, she pointed at the Morgendorffer's recently mowed lawn.

"What? What am I looking at? You can talk to bunnies?" Jane searched the expanse of green.

"No. Watch." Daria kept staring at the lawn.

Slowly Jane noticed the blades lengthening until the lawn was ankle-high. She looked to Daria with an inquisitive expression. "Your superpower is making things grow? That's kinda cool."

"It only works on lawns." Daria mumbled, shaking her head.

"So your superpower is making grass grow?" Jane rephrased.

Daria nodded with a sarcastic smile. "Yeah, it's about as interesting as making paint dry."

Jane gasped. "How did you know!"
