Prologue
"Mother, when will there be light? I do not wish to be in the dark anymore." a small kit asks.
"When you are older, maybe you will be told, but until then, you must remain carefully watched." a she-cat meows with a sense of motherly care.
"Watched? I don't even know where we are mother, I can't take it." The kit says with a whine.
"Once you are ready, then I shall tell you." The she-cat promised uneasily.
"When will I be ready?" questions the kit.
"Only time will tell me when you are ready." Said the she-cat, ending the conversation by putting the kit close and curling up for sleep.
"But what if time does not wish to tell us?" The kit challenged her before it fell asleep.
