In the beginning of the game, you start off on a plane. Kapp'n will be the pilot on the plane, of course. You can choose your look and gender like in HHD. You can change your town name later on in the game. The only way to change your appearance later is by buying a hairdresser. You can even pick the villagers you want in your town! You will still be mayor, and Isabelle will still be your secretary. Digby will help you with public work projects.
Graciegrace will be above able sisters when you complete 5 fashion checks. And you can apply jobs at your town stores. Each job will have different mini games. New stores can be in your town as public work projects. Like Arteest, a store ran by a gecko character named Jerry. You can make your own hats. You can buy a canvas and put it in your house to draw on!
Timmy and Tommy will be grown up and have their own kids. And Tom Nook will still run Nook Homes. Pete will run the post office where you can make your own stationary, get a job, and then you can deliver letters! And every special character and all your villagers will celebrate special events and holidays. Wendell will run a bakery called Bakery World, where you can make recipes and they will be added in the recipe book. When you complete the book, you will be given a chef outfit and then you can make your own recipes. You can only make one recipe per day, but not when you complete the book. There will be 25 recipes. And when you go to bed, you will have different dreams. There will be a car shop ran by a race car driver penguin named Quackers. You can buy your own car and drive it around town. And Quackers will have a sister named Carrie. If you talk to Carrie often, she'll tell you about Quacker's past and how he became a race car driver. Kind of like the able sisters XD
Lyle and Lottie will run Happy Home Academy. Lyle will tell you your score and Lottie will tell you if a new villager's moving in. If one is, you can choose where to place that villager's house.
There will be new fruits such as:

New villager species such as:
Bats
Lizards
Geckos
Otters
Dragons
Seagulls
Iguanas
Chameleons
Crabs
Giraffes
Raccoons
Hedgehogs
There will be 8 bats, 6 lizard, 4 geckos, 7 otters, 3 dragons, 5 seagulls, 5 iguanas, 2 chameleons, 6 crabs, 9 giraffes, 7 raccoons, and 4 hedgehogs.
There will be a junk yard where you can throw away any junk or something that you don't use.
Dr. Shrunk will have a son that works with him at the theater
Kicks will still own his shoe store that can be upgraded when a certain amount of money is spent there
Booker and Cooper will share a police station and a group of bad guys named, "The Beasts" will have their own secret hideout where you can get a job as one or the other. If you get a job as a cop, you got to catch anyone of The Beasts or all. If you get a job as one of The Beasts, you will have to hide from the cops.
