It was the same thing every morning. Even over holidays and weekends. Kevin hated it, but he loved Edd, so he learned to deal.
At 6AM, Edd's alarm would sound and he'd sit up, turn off the alarm, and put his beanie on his head. And Kevin would sit up, wrap his arms around his shoulders, kiss the back of his neck and mutter something that sounded like, "Morning, Babe," but Edd could never be sure. But he made sure his response as the same, just so his long time boyfriend would know that that he appreciated his efforts to at least rise with sun, even if he didn't shine like it til midday.
"Good morning, Kevin."
"Uh huh."
"I'm going to make coffee, alright?"
"Sure."
Then Kevin would squeeze him close before letting go, collapsing back into the bed and going back to sleep for at least another 20 minutes even though he'dkill for a couple of hours. But Edd's coffee, just like Edd, smelled heavenly and just like Edd's kisses, he had to get it in his system so he could function like the human being Edd kept telling him he was.
So he'd rise out of the bed, Edd's coffee and sunny smile helping him to shine.
