Summary: It started out as art project; he needed a model to paint. She is the woman he chosen to be his model, because she looks so much like her. His former lover, his former model.
He gently runs the pencil across the sketch pad.
Lines, curves, and circles taking shape into an object. An antique vase with a bouquet of gladiolus flowers inside of the vase, but even with a few lines and curves the sketch was already starting to look like the vase on the antique looking table.
But the vase is the only the recognizable feature on the pad at least so far, with possibly a hinting of the table as well in the sketch, but then again the vase and the flowers were the main point in this particular piece. Not the table.
He raises his dark cerulean blue eyes to study the antique vase again, and the different color bouquet of gladiolus flowers. Different shades of blue, violet, and white.
"Hey Noctis," a loud cheerful voice says as he opens the door to their door room. Noctis frowns slightly and slightly glares at his loud and slightly hyperactive roommate.
"Prompto," he replies closing his sketchbook. Prompto glances around the small apartment and notices the vase of flowers.
"Were you working on the painting for Gladiolus mother?" he questions. Knowing the slightly larger and muscular man commissioned Noctis to paint a picture a vase of her favorite flowers, which happened to be his namesake as well.
On occasion the blonde would occasionally tease him about it, which instantly causes the slightly muscular man to put the blonde into a headlock.
Despite his namesake which is a type of flower, it does have a manlier meaning as well meaning sword or something, in some ancient language that was used several centuries ago.
"Started it," he replies truthfully. "But Gladiolus bought the vase and flowers yesterday."
"He could've given her the flowers," Prompto pointed out.
"Flowers wither away, paintings last forever," he replies placing the sketchbook on the glass coffee table and moving towards the kitchen.
Prompto shrugs his shoulders, "Touché, touché."
"Besides I think Gladiolus wanted give his mother something elegant this year for her birthday, and she has always loved artwork," Noctis replies grabbing a water bottle from the refrigerator, and took a decent swing of the cool refreshing water.
"But you would have probably done it for free," Prompto points out sitting down on one of the stools at the counter.
Noctis nods his head in agreement, "But Gladiolus was quite insistent on paying."
"Sounds like him," Prompto says softly, "But I still think you need to work on your human anatomy skills. You know Mrs. Somnus is going to require a painting of a human for the final project this semester"
Make me beautiful, Noct.
You're always beautiful. I'm just capturing your beautiful form on paper.
Flatter.
"I've drawn humans before," he replies. "I just prefer not to anymore."
Prompto open his mouth to say something, but decided against it. It was obvious Noctis won't tell him even if he did question who his model was.
Silently figured the person must have been extremely important to him if he given up on drawing people.
"But you will do so for Mrs. Somnus art project," Prompto question.
"Yes."
Authors Note: The woman that was referanced in this chapter is the Dragoon Lady in the newest trailer.
