The summer was fast approaching, making the students lose concentration on their studies. Bridget Driscol tried so hard not to end up like them, she knew it could ruin her grades and that was the last thing she wanted. Besides, if she wanted to fail she would have happily done it during her fifth year. But that was in the past, and she made the right choice by passing. There was nothing in her life she regretted. Or is there? That little voice in her head would come and go, sometimes it didn't return for as long as a few months. Bri knew what it meant, even if she tried to ignore it. Was she really going to go crazy over a stupid little voice in her head? Maybe she just needed to get some fresh air, but the prefects would be out by now trying to catch anyone who was not in bed.

"And you know what he said to that?"

Bridget looked up from her book. It took her a few seconds to realize something and she let out a soft laugh. How stupid could she be? She wasn't just another child the school had to protect, she was now a grad-student, capable of making decisions of her own. The best part was that she could go out whenever she wanted, day or night.

"Sorry, Karry." She looked over at the girl next to her on the couch. Karry Fangsworth had graduated the same year as Bridget, and she had decided to continue her studies too. Karry gave Bridget a confused look, not knowing what she was apologizing for. Apparently, Karry had not noticed Bridget was not even listening to her story.

"I just meant... I need some air." Bridget smiled, closing her book.

"You want me to come?" Karry had gotten up, not ready to give up on her story-telling.

"No, I'll be fine." Bri gave her another smile, not wanting her to know that she was bored of her. Karry only nodded and sat back down. Bri knew that she would be in the same spot when she returned.
