The Civil Egg War: Part 1 The Cats & Dogs of War
It all started with the destruction of the Neo Death Egg. The powerful godlike being known as Nazo the Hedgehog saw to it that the Neo Death Egg was destroyed, but before he did this he saw to it that most of the Neo Egg Army had their cybernetics removed. For years now the feared Neo Dr. Eggman aka Robo-Robotnik mk II led a campaign to take over the entire world and enslave everyone to do as he commanded, during this time he came into conflict with various Freedom Fighter cells, the United Federations, and the Original Eggman Empire created by his older brother Dr. Oliver Eggman. The various Sub-Bosses that once served Neo Dr. Eggman were renamed Grandmasters when the doctor took control of the original Dark Legion of cyborg echidnas, but within a week the original Dark Legion was captured by Thrash the Tasmanian Devil, the entire Albion Chapter of the Dark Egg Legion was lost.
Within that week the Neo Eggman Empire reorganized its forces into the Neo Egg Army units. The units all served under the command of a Neo Egg Boss. The concept of the Egg Bosses was based off of Oliver's own Egg Army and Egg Bosses he was recruiting, the doctor was very busy with the time he had at his disposal. However as soon as Nazo showed everyone on Mobius what he had done to the Neo Death Egg, and crippled Neo Dr. Eggman before leaving him to drown to death in the frozen waters of the Northern Tundra. The two Eggman Empire armies went into bloody warfare, this Civil Egg War as people are calling it started with a bomb detonating in Soumerca. This bomb was triggered by Drago Wolf and Razorklaw, who blew up a large portion of the Badniks under the command of Egg Boss Thunderbolt the Chinchilla.
Thunderbolt was enraged by this turn of events, as soon as she got a damage report from one of her Egg Soldiers. She was completely angry, sparks were flying off of her robotic suit. "Unacceptable!" She shouted as she stomped one of the legs of her robotic suit, the Egg Soldiers near her coward away. They knew from experience that Thunderbolt was a very cruel and brutal woman, and she was out for blood. "We cannot allow those imitators of the Lord Eggman's glorious Eggman Empire, to get away with destroying so many marvelous Badniks!" She then looked at her troops, "get the men ready! I am authorizing a full scale attack on the Neo Egg Army base within the territory under our command!" And with that command the entire Soumerca Egg Army unit was prepared for war.
Meanwhile at the secret base of the Soumerca Neo Egg Army, Neo Egg Boss Drago Wolf was impressed with himself. "I must say Razorklaw, our enemies are going to be pushovers to handle now that the fat man is gone." Drago's fellow Neo Egg Boss didn't speak, Razorklaw was silent and only spoke when he absolutely needed to. He was more reserved next to Drago, he didn't like his fellow Neo Egg Boss and if given the chance he'd lead the entire Neo Egg Army faction under there command. "Honestly I don't know why we never thought of planting bombs in Thunderbolt's holdings before. We could easily fight them all if we wanted to." While Drago was impressed with himself, he rubbed his metallic claws with satisfaction at the part he played in the attack. But then all of a sudden the base proximity alert went off, it alerted everyone in the facility hidden underneath ancient ruins.
A speaker in the control room where the two Neo Egg Bosses were located came to life, as one of the scouts gave an urgent message to the leaders. "Drago Sir! We're under attack from Thunderbolt's Egg Army unit!" Drago quickly went to the radar and security systems, he saw hundreds of incoming enemy units. He could tell just by looking at them that his people would be outnumbered.
Drago then looked at Razorklaw. "Looks like you'll get your fight sooner than expected." The stoic Neo Egg Boss said as he had his arms crossed while looking at Drago.
Drago looked angry and terrified at the same time, he was always an overly ambitus wolf. He was also a great fool, he truly wasn't fit to be a leader of any kind and sure he talked a good amount on threats, but he could hardly carry them out. Drago quickly ordered the Neo Egg Soldiers to attack, but they ultimately would be slaughtered by the incoming Badniks and Egg Soldiers. Egg Boss Thunderbolt, personally led the attack while in her advanced combat armor that was given to her by Dr. Oliver Eggman. She extended an arm and electrocuted wolfs and cats from the Neo Egg Army unit, she was very pleased with the first phase of her master plan. "Go my minions! We shall have a glorious victory for Lord Eggman!" She then zapped more Neo Egg Soldiers until they were fried. "Don't leave any survivors, but if you happen to. Allow me the honor of dealing with them myself." She said as she charged at a wolf and cat cyborg from the Neo Egg Army, she grabbed them both by their heads and rammed them into a temple wall until it broke. She grinned at her handy work as she stomped over the bodies of the fallen foes that lay before her. Shortly after she finished attack a wave of Neo Egg Soldiers, she charged at a giant metal door, she then used the full power of her suit to rip the door. She broke down the temple walls surrounding the door, she did this in order to lead her troops into the fortress. Her troops took down all outer defenses, "charge! Go my Egg Soldiers! We shall destroy this abomination and disgraceful facility in the name of Lord Eggman!" She shouted loudly as her troops and Badniks charged in with guns blazing.
Meanwhile inside of the command center, Drago was nervous, he didn't expect that the Egg Army led by Egg Boss Thunderbolt would be so brutal. He was to use to dealing with Freedom Fighters and the Wolf Pack, that he expected the odds to be merciful for his people. Because of the moral codes of those two groups he never had anyone die under his command. The people of the Mysterious Cat Country were brutal, but when they allied with the Wolf Pack they held back in the two major assaults they had against the Neo Egg Army unit that Drago and Razorklaw commanded. "This can't be happening, this can't be happening!" Drago yelled as he smashed a console.
Razorklaw though stoic had a look of contempt in his eyes. "Perhaps you've underestimated what our enemies are capable of?" He said as he pressed a few buttons on a console.
Drago didn't like this, he got face-to-face with Razorklaw and said. "What are you doing?"
Razorklaw could see Drago starting to bare his teeth. "Ordering a strategic retreat into Northamer. It's our only hope for survival against the Egg Army."
Before Drago could protest against the idea, a wall suddenly broke down, dust went flying all over the command center. When the dust settled the two Neo Egg Bosses saw Egg Boss Thunderbolt in her battle armor. "Leaving so soon gentlemen?" She asked as she was ready to beat the two Neo Egg Bosses into a pulp.
Drago rose up and said, "Look lady! I give call the shots around here!" But before he could do anything else, Thunderbolt hit him with an uppercut that sent him into the wall.
She had a sly grin on her face as she kicked Razorklaw. "All talk and no action." Thunderbolt taunted her enemies, she was strong enough in her suit to take them both. Before they could react, she grabbed Drago out of the wall and threw him across the holographic display table. She then hit Razorklaw in the head and sent him flying into a wall, "I'm impressed you two were even granted the rank of Neo Egg Bosses. I guess that filthy imitator Julian would hire any whiff raff to do his dirty work." She said as she took delight in punching Drago again and again, "You know Drago you're truly pathetic. You had a home, family and loved ones, and you threw it all away like useless scrap. Just so you could gain a seat of power in the old Robotnik Empire." She then kicked Drago through a wall and then grabbed Razorklaw by the neck before he could strike at her. "As for you Razorklaw, you should've never gotten involved." She then threw Razorklaw into Drago.
The two Neo Egg Bosses were beaten badly, but Drago refused to give up. "Maybe if we work together we can get that runt?" He said as he helped up Razorklaw, they both charged but got zapped by Thunderbolt's electrical powers granted to her by her cybernetic implants.
"Haha! You fools can't possibly defeat me and my army!" And with that she allowed the two Neo Egg Bosses to escape with the few dozen Neo Egg Soldiers that survived the battle. Once Thunderbolt saw them heading for their ships that would take them to Northamer, she grinned even when one of her soldiers thought he was going to give her bad news.
"M-Ma'am, the Neo Egg Bosses and approximately forty-three Neo Egg Soldiers out of the two hundred escaped…" The Egg Soldier was a small turtle who was very fearful of his Egg Boss.
"Perfect." Thunderbolt said with a grin.
The turtle was taken aback by this. "W-What?" He was expecting her to be angry and furious with him. "D-Didn't you want us to destroy them all?" He asked while trying to keep a safe distance from his Egg Boss.
"I did, that's why I came up with a cleaver plan." She said as she pressed a button that activated a holographic screen. She began talking with a member of the Mysterious Cat Country. "Part of the surviving factor is heading for the crossroads on foot. The rest are heading towards the trap in Northamer." The cat person nodded their head, the call ended shortly after that. "You see my little brave Egg Soldier. I came up with a plan to send half of the survivors of the battle into the claws of the natives. The natives will deal with the Neo Egg Soldiers who're on foot. The Egg Bosses of Northamer will deal with Drago & Razorklaw. And I gave them a truly magnificent means of dealing with them."
Hours later in Northamer
Drago and Razorklaw were hoping that they'd be safe at their secret base in Northamer. "We need to gather our strength." Drago said to his fellow Neo Egg Boss.
Razorklaw narrowed his eyes as he watched Drago fly the airship, he then said, "how? We're cut off from support from the rest of the Neo Eggman Empire. None of the other Neo Egg Bosses will help us. Our only hope is to swallow our pride and join them before we're destroyed." However just as Razorklaw said that, the other two airships were shot down by rockets.
The rockets were being fired by Egg Pawns, the robots had a permanent grin printed on their faces and continued firing. They fired until they hit one of the engines of the Neo Egg Boss airship, the airship crashed down. Drago and Razorklaw survived the crash and hastily escaped, they didn't know what was going on. "How could we have possibly run into Egg Pawns?" Drago said once he and Razorklaw were a safe distance from the robots.
Then all of sudden before Razorklaw could say anything, a pair of metal hooves stomped on a rock. "Because we were expecting you." The person was a Mobian Pronghorn, she looked like she was about nineteen years old and had an almost regal look to herself. Her attire was like that of Dr. Eggman, except it was colored grey and the Pronghorn had a neutral look on her face.
Then another Mobian Pronghorn appeared, she looked younger than the other Pronghorn. She was green like the older Pronghorn, except her mouth, eyes and ears had cybernetics. She had tonfas drawn out and ready for a fight, "and you two bozos are going down." She said with excitement, she was eager for a fight but was holding back.
"I didn't know Eggman recruited brats into his army." Drago said as he got ready to stand up and fight.
Razorklaw looked at Drago, "remember what I said about swallowing our pride?"
Drago snarled as he looked at Razorklaw, "I ain't giving up to the hands of a Pronghorn child of all things. The Pronghorns are all filthy little runts that need to be put in their place." Drago knew of the Pronghorn tribe that these two belonged to, he could tell their tribe just by looking at them. He didn't know what business they had with the Eggman Empire but he'd rather die fighting them than surrender purely because of his pride.
Razorklaw didn't like the look of things, he knew that the two Pronghorns would likely weaken them and then allow their minions to finish them off. The very idea made Razorklaw realize that one way or another, this would be the end of the Soumerca branch of the Neo Egg Army. He rose up, and got his claws ready for combat. "Don't hold back, give us a true warrior's death young ones."
"I am Clove the Pronghorn." The older Pronghorn said as she took out what looked like a staff.
"And I'm Cassia the Pronghorn. Deal with it you big jerks." Cassia said as she and her sister jumped into combat.
The two Mobian Pronghorns leaped into battle, they could tell that the two Neo Egg Bosses were still weak from their battle with Thunderbolt. The battle was swift, Clove was mostly using her Energy Scythe to make her enemies weak from having to dodge her attacks and Cassia would go in and deliver blows to the two. At one point in the fight Clove jumped and then landed on Drago's face and Cassia punched Drago's face hard, in fact they both hit him at the same time during the fight. The battle lasted several before Cassia & Clove hit their enemies into a corner, Clove then pulled out a remote with a button. "Do you two surrender to the Eggman Empire?" She asked calmly as she held the remote.
Drago and Razorklaw panted, their clothing was ripped up from the fight and Drago's face was beaten up badly. "Never…"
Clove closed her eyes and gestured Cassia to leave. "Then you brought this on yourselves." Clove pressed the button and it was a voice recording of Neo Dr. Eggman's voice. It gave the order for Drago & Razorklaw's bombs in their implants to explode. Drago & Razorklaw looked at their arms as they started to glow, Clove began walking away from the area. The two Neo Egg Bosses were in shock and couldn't move, then within seconds their arms exploded, the explosion completely destroyed the two Neo Egg Bosses. Clove met up with her sister and didn't look pleased, she was left with no choice but to kill the two villains. She then contacted Thunderbolt on a radio once she got back to her base and informed her fellow Egg Boss that the deed was done.
