The titans tower was relatively peaceful that day. the city had been quiet. Everyone seemed to be getting along just fine.
Everyone but me.
"You're what?" Beast Boy exclaimed, showering me with spit.
I twitched, scowling as I wiped the wet spots from my ashen skin. "Beast Boy, calm down."
"But you- and he- and... herm...!" The green boy pulled at his hair, tears of frustration streaming down his cheeks.
"Beast Boy did you want an honest answer or a lie?" I inquired patiently.
Why did I have to make bad decisions? Today had been perfect. I had my book, my favorite tea and quiet. Until Beast Boy had burst into my room with question on weather or not I had romantic feelings for Robin. I had answered truthfully in the negative. He asked why. I didn't lie.
"But-but, you like girls?" Beast Boy screamed.
My violet eyes widened and I tackkled him, clamping my hand over his mouth. He struggled beneath me. When he went limp I removed my hands and he huffed.
"Beast Boy please," I begged. "Keep your voice down. I don't want to-"
"Raven, what are you doing on friend Beast Boy?"
I tensed and turned toward the door stiffly. Starfire stood in the doorway, a confused and hurt expression dominating her features.
I lept off Beast Boy hurriedly. "Starfire... It's not what you think..." I held my hands before me in surrender as I tried to reason with the skittish alien.
"O-oh it is alright f-friend Raven. I apologize for interrupting." The Tamaranian fled.
"Starfire!" I called as I ran after her, leaving the gaping Beast Boy on my floor. I can't let her get away.
The halls echo with my tumping feet and desperate yells. I chased Starfire until she got to her room. She closed the door in my face.
"Star...?" I called uncertainly.
"Please leave me be Raven! I wish to be left to the gorging of ice cream when sad."
I felt a smile tug at my lips. "Star, can we please talk about this?"
"No," THe Tameranian declined. "I do not wish to see you."
I remained silent, contemplating. Would she be angrier if I left or went in?
"Raven...?" Starfire called out uncertainly.
"I'm coming in." I felt myself phase into the other girls room.
Starfire was drapped over her bed, face buried n her orange pillows.
"Please leave Raven."
I ignored the request and glided over to her. The bed dipped slightly with my added weight. Starfire peeked up at me, tears in her green eyes.
"Why will you not leave me be?" She demanded.
Impulsively I reached out a hand and dragged my thumb across her cheek. I wiped tthe salty liquid from her tense face. Keeping her face in my grasp, I forced her gaze to mine.
"Beast Boy came to my room and asked me if I liked Robin." I explained. "I told him the honest truth when he asked why I had said no."
Starfire had a confused frown painted on her lips. "Why do you not like friend Robin?"
I leaned toward the other girl, pulling her face to me also. Starfire closed her eyes, allowing our lips to brush in a simple kiss.
"Beacuse Beast Boy wanted to know if I loved Robin." Starfire's gaze morphed into one of recognition.
The Tamaranian flung her arms around me. We fell back onto the bed with a small oomph.
"I am very sorry Raven! I thought that you and friend Beast Boy were..." Starfire stopped up short, cheeks flaiming red.
I smiled at my innocent Tamaranian.
"Only you love, only you."
