"What about this one?"

"No."

"Alright…this?"

"Really Kane are you even trying?!" He turns to this companion for the day unsure if the anger and frustration was genuine or in a playful jest. He suspects a combination of both.

"I am. This is was easier on the Ark."

"We hardly had anything on the Ark."

"Exactly. Sure everything you got was a four generational hand me down but there was far less to choose from." His eyes scan the seemingly miles of merchandise laid out on tables and shelves. Yeah this was much easier in space.

"Relax Kane you can do this. You know my mom inside and out think what would she want?" Clarke gives him a sincere smile as her hand waves in the direction of one of the tables. He gives a half smile and starts to examine the goodies. No. No. Maybe? God no!

"Clarke this is pointless. I give up. Just pick something for me."

"Kane since when have you ever given up? You're nearly more stubborn than me. Come on Marcus stop over thinking it!" He nods moving to the next table. He glides his fingers over a few items. Nothing giving the ta-da moment. Just as he's ready to plead Clarke one more time for mercy he sees it.

"Perfect!" He picks and holds it up for her to see.

"I knew you could it do it! She'll love it Marcus. This will be her best birthday ever."

"I hope so. She deserves one. Thanks for helping me."

"Anytime."
