Melancholy Morning
I've always wondered what it may have been like for the kids that got trapped in doomed timelines. How hard it must have been, watching everything they ever knew destroyed.
Prologue
The rain fell. The world stopped. The wind howled. You can't move. You can't breathe. The ground shakes beneath you. For she went limp in your arms; her life no longer with her. You feel tears slowly dripping down your face, and onto the already soaked soil. You try to stand up. You try so hard to carry her away to a safer place, yet you stumble and fall at every step. You would wonder through this abandoned wasteland of a world forever if it would bring her back. You cry out in agony, letting your exhausted body fall apart on the ground. You kneel before her wilting form. She didn't deserve this. You don't deserve this. A gentle gust of wind tugging at your hair caught your attention. You looked up to the grey sky, blinking at the little unwanted light there is. You can feel the monstrous storm approaching.
You are John Egbert, and your dear friend has just paid the ultimate price. Shame she got so close to the horrorterrors.
