Princess opened her eyes and looked around. The first things that struck her mind were her brother and her first born kit. Where are they now? She got out of her fluffy nest and yawned. It had been seasons since Cody had told her about the four clans moving away, and even more seasons since she had given her child to Firestar to raise- to become a hero. Her bell jingled as she started to groom herself, brushing her rough tongue over each bit of fur. She heard the sound of footsteps as her housefolk walked in. She greeted them with a purr and they brushed their hand over her fur. She rubbed her head against their leg and heard a popping sound followed by a delicious smell. Princess walked over to her dish as the folk poured broken-apart meat into it. She ate the food with a purr, waving her tail in delight. She licked the last morsels off her whiskers and took a few delicate steps to her other dish, where the folk would put refreshing, cold water. As she lapped it up, she reminded herself that she was lucky to have all of this; a cozy sleeping place, fresh food and water, and the warmth of her folk's home all around her. She reminisced on her old meetings with her brave brother who had become the clan leader. Pride warmed her, but the memories had a sting in them, as she would more than likely never see him again. Her folk was carrying a crate towards her now, and it put it down right in front of her, coaxing her in. She walked in, knowing her housefolk wouldn't do anything to harm her, and the door closed behind her.

As she was carried in the box, which was wobbling, her collar bell jingled. She let out a mew of alarm as a roaring sound started all around her. It was burning hot in the monster's belly, and Princess kept licking off the salty moisture that beaded up on her paws. Where am I going? After a very long time, the monster slowed down, and Princess felt the rocking again. She saw where she was. She bristled as yowls of cats and dogs rose from this place. What's going on?! Princess let out a loud, frightened meow, and the folk that had been carrying her jolted its arm in terror, dropping the crate and letting it open. Princess bolted out of it and ran far, back to the forest- or where the forest had been. She ran as far away from where that terrible screeching noise came from and stopped. She was near a cave she had never seen before. She sniffed the air. No housefolk. There was nothing but a barn. She headed toward it, wondering what she would do now that she was homeless. Once she made it to the barn she smelled cat. She let out a meow to let the cats know she was here, and it never crossed her mind that these cats may chase her off. She somehow knew that whoever lived here was friendly. She thought more about what she would do now. Princess decided that if these cats didn't know who the clan cats were or where they went, she'd ask if she could live with them, but if they did… She'd go out and find them, to meet her brother and son again.
