Mmkay, so I dunno whether to continue this or not. I'd like some comments before I go on, just so I know that I'm writing for at least one person. XD

Anywho, legal stuff: The Legend of Zelda does not belong to me, it's owned by Nintendo... mumbles However, this story was written by me. )

Deep within the twisting labyrinth of pine and fern sat the infamous Kokiri girl, emerald pools staring blankly at the forest floor. Dried leaves were strewn about on the worn and dying grasses. Dampened dirt had consumed the once lush green, murdering the defenseless plant-life without mercy. Brow was furrowed some. What a horrible thing to do. Jade gaze then drifted toward murky heavens. This only caused her already nasty scowl to get even sourer. Stupid trees. They ruined the sky. She sighed; chin falling to puny palms in pouting defeat. Annoyance was obvious, as well as impatience. Heels tapped roughly at the stump. Her stump, to be exact. Then finally, having enough, she stood and screamed:

"I'm waiting, Link!"

She paused, listening intently to her high-pitched echo, screaming right back at her. A look of disgust came across her face as she fell back unto her stump, slumped. The winged ball normally hovering a few inches off her shoulder had fled, afraid. How bratty-sounding this voice was. This wasn't her. The echoing ceased. She was mature, responsible, and - as much as she struggled with it - patient. Not the spoiled nine year-old that her and her kind appeared to be. Another sigh, this one giving off a hint of sorrow. Fingers gently ran across a familiar item. An instrument. Musical, at that. A weak smile was brought to her lips for a short moment, only to be replaced by a frown. A rare sight, indeed. Carefully, the Ocarina was put into the Kokiri's soft, tiny grasp, and hugged to her chest.

She wasn't patient. She knew it better than anyone else. And no matter how hard she tried to be, it wasn't happening anytime soon. Responsible? Hardly. Then again, she never had to be responsible for anything in her life.

She tried being mature.

But... well... that still needed some work. Maybe she really was that echo. That snotty annoying little kid. After all, that is what she looked like. Just a little kid.

"Please hurry... I'm waiting for you..."

The girl whispered, sending a hand through obnoxiously bright green strands. A final sigh gave the glowing critter enough incentive to return to the Kokiri's side. Emerald eyes remained locked upon the peach colored Ocarina as she sniffled. She hated crying.

Only ten minutes after their parting, Saria dearly missed her beloved friend. Link.
