Err…because one of my bunnies was being dark. And morbid. And it was thinking about Yami no Marik. And because I honestly had this pop into my head and it wouldn't let me alone.
I don't really know what to make of it (or what it is suggesting about my imagination).
Set in the aftermath Yami no Marik's first appearance to the Ishtar family (both in anime—episode 93, I believe—and manga verse, and it can be read for either setting) in Marik's point of view. Very short, but while you're reading set it to the tune of "It's Raining, It's Pouring." It kinda…yeah.
.
Pain and fear, all is lies,
Room is filled with desperate cries.
Vision blurs and then goes red,
I look down and Father's dead.
.
Something's wrong, I know this
Sister's acting quite amiss,
And Brother's face is oh-so-grim,
Wish I knew what's scaring them.
.
Father's blood, stains the wall,
And it's all the Pharaoh's fault.
If not for him then we'd be free,
Vengeance now is up to me.
.
Something near, something black,
Chasing shadows at my back.
What it is I cannot see
But I know it's haunting me.
