A/N: I know this sucks like hell, but I wanted Clary to have a father for a change. I also know that my title sucks. Please recommend something else! I am fresh out of titles.

I remember when I got little Daisy. Well, not exactly got. I found her curled up in a box of my old art supplies. I picked her up, and she was still asleep. By the way, Daisy is a rat. I very sweet, lazy rat. My mother and I had a heated argument about wether or not to keep her. She finally agreed when I told her I would use the money I earned from working at the book store to pay for Daisy's food and necessities. I kept her in my book bag at school every day. No one knew, except my best friends, Isabelle, Simon, and Jace. We were all best friends since 1st grade when Izzy and Jace stuck up for me when Kaelie, the school mean bee (Izzy was the Queen Bee, and a nice one too) told me I looked like a rat in her basement. Ironic considering I now care for a rat. Anyway, we were friends ever since. Simon and I have been friends since we were 5.

I don't really remember how, though. Simon and Jace were in a band together called The Mortal Instruments. They were actually pretty good. My dad was on a business trip to Texas that night that I walked to their concert at Java Jones. I was walking at night so, obviously it was dark. Well, duh. Anyway, Daisy was squirming in my bag, so I took her out. She ran away, so naturally, I followed her. She is an extremely intelligent rat, and she ran straight to Java Jones. I almost laughed. I dived to catch her, but my foot got stuck in the door way. I landed face first in a puddle of coffee. At least that little bitch of a rat is safe.

"Why such a hurry, Clary?" Simon asked me, helping me up.

"Well, that little bitch got away." I answered. Jace chuckled.

"When are you ever going to learn? Rats will rub if you take them out. Remember gym?"

How could I forget! I left Daisy in my gym locker, and she got out. She was running laps with is, and she followed me to the squad lines. The gym teacher asked me to put her back in my locker in front if everyone! I was mortified. I laughed.

"Don't remind me," I told Jace. That bastard laughed. He kissed the top of my head.

"Going on soon," he told me. I listened to the music until midnight.
