~I do not own the Outsiders~

~3rd Person P.O.V.~

Ever since Curly Shepard was a child everyone new he was an idiot. But Curly wasn't as stupid as everyone thought. Sure he may have been failing in school but that was his own choice. If he actually paid attention in class and went to school he would have probably been passing. But the problem was is that's what everyone expected of Curly. Ever since the day that Curly was born everyone expected him to be exactly like his older brother Tim. They expected him to be smart, ice hard, calm, a leader, and that would have worked out just fine except for one flaw in there expectations. Curly was not Tim.

Now that Curly was 16 years old the pressure to be like Tim was getting heaver. Nowadays it seamed that everyone, especially Tim, was telling him that it was time for him to grow-up and start acting like a gang leader. The problem with that was the way that Curly acted was the only way he new how to act because he wasn't trying to act like a child he was only being himself. Another problem was that half the time Curly could barley make decisions for himself, so how was he going to make decisions for a whole gang.

On one particularly rainy Monday morning Curly stumbled threw the front door of his house half asleep and hungover. He had woken up at Chuck's, a member of Tim's gang, house in bed with a random broad after a long night of partying. He new that he had school today and that if he didn't go Tim would bitch at him some more about responsibility but so far his day hadn't gone so well and he just plane didn't want to go.

Curly had stumbled his way to the stair's and was about to begin his slow and painful journey up them when someone grabbed his forearm and spun him around. That's the moment he new his day was about to get alot worse. It was Tim. By the looks of it Tim was pissed and that was surprising because Tim was king of stone. He rearly showed his emotions and if he was now then he must really be mad.

"Curly why the hell aren't you in school," Tim spoke lowly with his teeth clenched. "I don't feel good," Curly snapped back. Tim lost his cool and yelled," Bullshit, you have a hangover you little shit." Tim continued with," Curly when will you ever learn to use your brain. You are such a screw up and you never do anything right. You need to grow up and stop acting like a little kid all the time. God Curly you are such a fucking idiot." That was the last straw for Curly. He was so tired of people always calling him an idiot.

He turned around and walked right back out the front door and down the road. Curly could hear his brother Tim yelling after him to "get his ass back there," but he didn't listen. He just kept walking and walking until his legs finally lead him to the train station. He went up to one of the booths and told the guy working there to give him a ticket onto the train that was leaving the soonest. The guy obliged handing him the ticket without question and Curly paid for it with the rest of the money in his wallet. Curly boarded the train without looking where it was going and got himself comfortable sitting in the back of the train where he hoped no one bothered him. The train left the station soon after he boarded and Curly really didn't care where it went as long as it was far away from Tulsa. That would be the last time Curly Shepard would ever be called an idiot. He would make sure of it.
