As Aang and Katara walked through the streets of Ba Sing Se, people stared and whispered. This was pretty common ever since the world found out about the couple. It seemed they couldn't go anywhere without being interrupted by people asking questions about the two's relationship. Usually it wasn't that bad though. Once they'd answered a few questions, they'd be left alone. The real problem was the jealous fangirls. They prowled the streets trying to find ways to hurt Katara. Their words were like stinging darts, their glares as cold as ice. They constantly made fun of Katara and said she didn't deserve Aang. Katara tried not to let them get to her, but they did. The mean comments born out of jealousy's womb planted little seedlings of doubt in the back of her mind. Did she deserve Aang? Was she good enough for him? She eventually confronted Aang with her anxieties and doubts. Aang had held her while she cried and reassured her that she most definitely deserved him. "If anything," he has told her, "I don't deserve you." He had then kissed her, telling her how much he loved her. But today the jealous fangirls were back and out for blood as the couple walked hand in hand down the street. "She doesn't deserve him," they said, "She's just some Water Tribe peasant." Katara winced at their words. "I bet he just feels sorry for her," the girls continued, "He's probably waiting to drop her at the first chance he gets." A lone tear ran down Katara's face. Aang saw the tear then turned and saw the girls. He made sure they were watching him then grabbed Katara by the waist, pulled her close, and kissed her deeply. Katara could feel the girls' stares as she and Aang made out in the middle of the street. When they finally pulled away from each other, Aang turned to the girls. "You," he started, "You have no right to say those things about Katara. She is brave, kind, beautiful, and so much more and I love her with all my heart, so don't you dare criticize her. If anything, I don't deserve her." With that he grabbed Katara's hand and walked way. As they got out of the streets, Katara stopped Aang. "Did you really mean what you said back there?" she asked. He enveloped her in a hug. "Oh course I did," he said, "I meant every single word" "I love you Aang," she murmured into his shoulder." Aang kissed the top of her head. "I love you too."
