James Potter loved to put on a show, he wanted to entertain the people and whenever something good happened to him, he wanted nothing more than to find a way for the whole world to know.

The day Lily said yes to a date with him was the first time that he didn't feel the need to shout it to the world. Not because she meant nothing to him, quite the opposite actually. He didn't care, for once what everyone else thought. It didn't matter if people applauded because when they found out because he had the girl and all he needed for the rest of his life. As long as she was in his arms things were perfect even if the rest of the world was lost to flames and fire, they were together.

Lily Evans like a quiet life, she preferred to sit in the shade of a tall tree and read a good book, even if she had already read it three times previously. She hated being the center of attention and kept to herself mostly. She didn't have many friends and although she had dated a few guys she didn't think she would ever fall in love. Lily was the type of girl to think through everything she did, she never did anything without weighing the negatives but always seemed to forget to look at the positive side,

When she finally said yes to James, it was the most impulsive decision she had ever made. That was how she knew she made the right decision. For once in her life she followed what her heart said and took that final leep. Lily didn't let her head talk her out of what she had wanted. In that moment she wanted to scream it to the world, she found the man she loved.

James Potter and Lily Evans were perfect for each other. They tested one in other in ways no other couple can compare. Where one of them was quiet, the other was loud. They completed each other and when they fought a passion could be seen within the two of them that let everyone know that it wouldn't be long before they were within each other's arms again. Maybe that was why everyone always knew they would be together.

So when the new couple entered the great hall and both stopped, no one had yet noticed them. The two looked at each other and while James motioned for the two of them to simply sit down, Lily shook her head. She led him to the center of the Gryffindor table where all of James' friends just happened to be sitting.

Lily climbed onto the table and looked down at her boyfriend, motioning for him to follow her up. He did as she wished and as soon as their strange actions had claimed the attention of the entire school Lily wrapped her arms around James' neck and pulled him in for a long deep kiss in which he quickly reciprocated.

The Hall was silent before the cheering erupted, the majority of the student body seemed happy that Lily had finally accepted. As friends turned towards each other to talk excitedly, no one seemed to notice the couple climb down from their pedestal and remove themselves from the gossip.

A.N: Let me know what you think. It's really short and sweet I think, I'm working on a new story but I couldn't get this idea out of my head and it doesn't fit in the story I'm writing so I took a quick break to write this.
