She sits on her bed, looking threw old family albums. The picture of her and her father make her choke up. She was going to cry.
KNOCK KNOCK
Zatanna closes the book, wipes her tears, and says " Who's there?"
"Its me." Answers a voice she has come to love.
"Come in." She replies.
Robin enters her room. The two have not had much time to talk, since their New Year's celebration at the Watch Tower.
"Hey." He says.
"Hi." She says back.
Robin sits down next to her.
"So…" He says. Zatanna could tell something was on his mind.
"Is something is bothering you Robin? 'Cause we have not talked since our kiss at the Watch Tower." Her smile disappears.
Robin notices right away. " No, I just wanted to say, that I… Ugh, this is hard to say."
"Dnim ruoy no si tahw yas!" She says out loud.
"I really like you and I wanted to let you know that I feel the same way you did on New Years!" Robin blurts out. "Thanks and no fair with the magic."
Zatanna giggles. Robin starts laughing too. The two sit there laughing until their eyes meet. They both look into each other's eyes. Robin comes closer. His warm lips touch hers. They sit there just letting each other explore the vast edges of each other's months. Zatanna is coming to enjoy herself when the Boy Wonder pulls away and quickly move to the edge of Zatanna's bed.
From where Zatanna sits, it looks like Robin is crying. She moves toward him. When she gets close to him, she sees that Rob only has this hand on his face. His glasses are in his hand and his eyes are closed.
"Rob?" She says.
No answer.
"Robin?"
He puts on the glasses and faces her.
"Are you okay?" She asks. "Did I do something wrong."
Robin grabs her hand. Zatanna feels her cheeks warming up.
"You did nothing. I was just remembering my parents."
Robin has only talked about his family with Kid Flash before. Zatanna has no idea what to say.
Robin notices the silence. "They died when I was 8. Batman adopted me then, and by the time I was nine, I became Robin. Its been hard, Bats is great and all, but I miss my really parents." His voice is starting to choke up.
"I know how you feel. My mom died in a car crash and my dad, is you know… with Fate. I you ever want to talk, I am here, and I understand how you feel."
Robin once again places his lips on hers again. Zatanna was surprised by this one, but she let it continue.
"Thanks." He says.
Zatanna blushes. "Your welcome."
"I lo…" Robin begins.
"Team you are needed now." Batman's voice says over the intercom.
"What were you going to say Robin?" Zatanna asks.
"Oh, nothing. We should get going." Robin stands up and walks out.
Zatanna hears him chuckle his echo laugh to himself.
She could never figure out how he did that.
"Another mystery of the Boy Wonder. Guess that's why they call him that though." Zatanna smiles. "Tiftuo oreh ym ot sehtolc ym egnahc!" Her costume appears.
"He likes me. He trusts me." She runs out of her room to catch up with Robin.
