The Boomerang Nebula
"Bow ties are cool!" The Doctor told us… again. Rory had made the mistake of saying otherwise. "I will prove this to everyone someday!" I made a noise that could have been considered a reply.
"Oh! This-" He pulled a lever and the TARDIS lurched one way.
"Is brilliant! I don't know why I didn't think of it before!" He typed coordinates with the old typewriter keys, the numbers and letters showing up on the scanner.
"And where are we going, exactly?" Amy asked. I got up from my seat, making sure my bookmark was securely placed in The Hound of the Baskervilles. I groaned as I read the screen.
"I know those coordinates," I said to the Doctor. "He took me here once… and I like your bow ties!"
Rory walked over to the doors, with Amy following close behind.
"So where are we?" He asked. I began to follow the couple over to the Police Box doors.
"Oxygen shield up?" I asked, not pausing in my walking.
"Of course," came the reply. Yes, because it was silly of me to ask a man who's left the parking brakes since the beginning of time if he had an oxygen shield up.
"Ah, I see you managed to brake her without allowing the swimming pool to mix with the library… I take it River's taught you a bit about maneuvering her through deep space…" I trailed off, smirking to him at the end.
"Well," Amy continued where I left off. "I'm sure it's hard for him to not hit the planets or the gas floating through space." The Doctor huffed, and Amy giggled as she and Rory parted to allow me to open the doors.
"Is that a giant-" Rory began, but I cut him off.
"We are five thousands light years away from Earth in the constellation Centaurus," I answered Rory's first question. "This is the boomerang nebula, otherwise known as the bow tie nebula. Its temperature is -272 degrees Celsius, only one degree Celsius warmer than absolute zero, and it is the naturally coldest place in the Universe." I brushed a stray lock of hair away from my face and brought my voice to a whisper.
"Within two minutes, I guarantee the Doctor will say-"
"See! Bow ties are definitely the coolest things in the universe!"
I haven't written anything in literally months, so I'm a tad rusty. I almost didn't bother to write this, but since I'm going back to school tomorrow, I figured I should write something. I'm thinking about starting a Doctor Who fanfiction soon, or at least little one-shots with my OC. BTW, the girl in this was Isabella Marie Drummond, my OC that I'll be using for all of my DW stories. I'll probably post her character chart on deviantart soon.
To anyone reading A Debt to Pay. I'm sorry. I'm on a Sherlock/Doctor Who kick, and I have no idea when I'll be off it. It may take quite a while. But I'll be leaving everything up :)
