It all started when Tohru transformed Yuki and Kyo. It was an accident. Something that happened often, with Tohru around the house; her clumsiness led to a great number of these accidents occurring. But today was different. Yuki and Kyo had been arguing incessantly, and now Tohru's "accident" had ticked them both off. They were screaming at each other in their Zodiac forms. Each one was bristling with rage. Kyo was hissing at Yuki, and Yuki was glaring at Kyo. Tohru was stopping her ears and pleading with them both to stop. Shigure, completely ignoring the entire spat, was curled up in his office with a book.
Then it happened. Tohru saw it all. Yuki leaned in a little too close to Kyo, criticizing him and screaming that he was a baka neko, and Kyo…
Kyo took the rat-size Yuki in his jaws and gobbled him down.
Tohru screamed and grabbed Kyo, trying to force Yuki out. Kyo turned purple and his eyes crossed. Tohru set him down and ran screaming for Shigure. Kyo, horrified at what he had done, began to retch, attempting to force Yuki out.
It was no use.
Shigure came in, looked at the scene, and laughed weakly.
"Well, well." He said faintly. "I guess the Cat beat the Rat after all."
