As the sun began to rise over the horizon, the fresh scent of morning dew traveled through Daybreak Town. Two silhouettes sat on a bench watching the sunrise. "How was your mission yesterday?" asked the more slender of the silhouettes in a soft female voice. "Oh, it wasn't too bad." "Not as frustrating as it was the day before that," replied the slim but more muscular silhouette in a male voice. The slimmer figure nodded. "How was your training?" asked the muscular figure. "Not too bad either. Mister Raji only taught us how to cast Curaga, so we didn't have to use up much physical strength," said the slimmer figure as she began conjuring a green aura in her right hand. After conjuring a strong enough aura, the slimmer figure touched her palm to a small cut that rested on the more muscular figure's left shoulder. Immediately after doing so, the cut faded away and ceased to exist. "You've been training hard," said the male as he rubbed the spot where the wound had previously existed. "I try my best," replied the female as a slight blush appeared over her face. The two shared a laugh.

As the rays of the rising sun made contact with the two figures, their features became much more visible. The male silhouette was revealed to be a young man who appeared to be around sixteen years of age. He dawned a light-blue hoodie, a pair of grey khaki shorts, a pair of black combat boots with white knee-high socks, and a large burlap sack which he used to carry several belongings. His medium-length shaggy green hair covered his brown left-eye. The female was revealed to be a teenage girl who appeared to be around the same age as her friend. She wore a violet short cloak, a pair of black leggings, and a pair of brown leather calf boots. Her long and wavy black hair extending out of the sides of her hood. Her eyes were perhaps her most unique feature. One of her eyes was dark blue while the other one was a light green.

As the sun rose over the horizon, the boy stretched his legs. "Well, we got to get going, Elizabeth," said the boy as he got to his feet. The girl nodded as she followed close behind. As the boy walked away from the bench, he was greeted by a strong male voice. As the boy turned his head, he saw Elizabeth's mentor, Raji. "Good morning, sir," said the boy with a wave. "Do you need anything, teacher?" asked Elizabeth as Raji approached the duo."Not anything personal, I just need Adam to deliver this parcel by request of a merchant," said Raji as he presented a large wicker basket covered by a thin yellow cloth. As Adam lifted the cloth to peer inside, he saw an assortment of various species of flowers, potions, and scrolls. "Can do," said Adam as he took the basket from Raji. "Like usual, the merchant has requested to meet near the fountain," said Raji as he crossed his arms. Adam nodded. "By the way, how is your magical ability coming along? Have the lessons that Elizabeth passed on to you improve your skills?" asked Raji. "Yes, they have," said Adam as he laid the basket on a nearby rock. After doing this, Adam raised his right hand into the air. As he did so, a base version of the Starlight keyblade materialized in his hand. "THUNDARA!" shouted Adam as he thrust his keyblade into the air. As Adam did this, several lightning bolts struck the ground ten feet away. As the electricity ceased, Raji began clapping. "Well done, young man." "Thank you, it took me a while to perfect it," said Adam as he dispelled his keyblade and picked the basket back up. "You're doing very well, Adam," said Raji as he glanced at the clock that hung in the window of a nearby shop. As Adam looked to the clock, he knew it was time for him to get going. "It was nice talking to you, sir," said Adam as he bowed his head. "It was nice speaking to you as well, Adam," said Raji before he began walking back in the direction of the Mage Academy. "I'll see you later, Adam," said Elizabeth with a wave as she followed closely behind Raji. "Later," said Adam as he waved back.

(Adam's POV)

My name is Adam Larinx Cherin. I am a 16-year-old keyblade wielder who belongs to the union, Vulpes. The girl who I was just with is my best friend, Elizabeth. Though Elizabeth isn't a keyblade wielder, she's a very talented mage. I'm happy to have her by my side. Now on to the unions. Us union members don't hear much about what goes on between the union leaders, but sometimes, information finds a way out and makes it to the general public. Regardless of if secrets are being kept from us, I'm not going to turn my back on my union leader. I have great respect for Ava and I am fully aware of the importance of gathering light. As a keyblade wielder, I must fulfill the duty bestowed upon me.

As I made my way towards the fountain, I felt a rustling in my burlap sack. "Hey, buddy. Did I wake you?" I asked as my chirithy poked her head out of the bag. "No, I've been up for a while," replied my chirithy as she hopped out of my bag. "So what's on the agenda today?" I asked. "Same as usual, collect lux," replied my chirithy. "Of course...," I muttered in mild annoyance. As I approached the fountain square, I saw the man I was looking for leaning against the edge of the fountain. "I got your goods," I said as I walked towards him. "Thank you, young man. Here's the payment," said the merchant as he handed me a small bag of Munny. "Thank you, Sir," I said as I handed the merchant the basket of goods. "No, thank you," said the merchant as I tossed the bag of Munny into my burlap sack. As the merchant left, I went ahead and sat on the edge of the fountain. "So, we're just going to sit here again?" asked my chirithy as she sat down next to me. "Yeah, might as well wait until another wielder shows up. It's best to group up," I replied as I pulled a cold bottle of water out of my bag. After pulling a small metal cup out of my bag, I filled it with water. "Here, buddy," I said as I handed my chirithy the cup. "Thanks," replied my chirithy before successfully picking up the cup of water. Due to their nub hands, it's a little difficult for chirithy to pick up certain objects, but, with a bit of effort, they can do it. As my chirithy took a sip of water, she let out a soft "Mmmm" signaling that she was enjoying it. Although dream eaters don't need to eat or drink to survive, they are still capable of doing so for pleasure.

After drinking the entire cup of water, my chirithy handed me the cup back. After I placed the cup back into my bag, my chirithy plopped itself onto my lap and laid down. "Going back to sleep?" I asked before taking a swig from my water bottle. "Yeah, might as well since we're waiting," she replied before dozing off. As I pet my chirithy, I wait patiently to start my mission for today.
