Disclaimer: I own nothing! This is all J.K's world. I just like to have fun in it! Song: "Call me When you're sober" by Evanescene.
A/N: I usually write for the "dark side" but I am a fan of some light side characters. Lol. So I decided to see if I could write another songfic for the songfic challenge on xoxLewrahxox's forum. This is TonksxLupin. I hope it is read and liked. It's exactly 500 without the lyrics, with the lyrics it's 609. Not counting all of this.
Save yourself
Don't cry to me.
If you loved me,
You would be here with me.
You want me,
Come find me.
Make up your mind.
Her heart ached from the prints he had left as he walked over it. She couldn't save him; he didn't want to be saved. Instead he felt the need to drown himself incessantly in any liquor he could find. She wanted him to be here, with her, in her arms. She was sick of his back and forth. He loved her and then he didn't. He wanted to be with her, and then he didn't. She was sick of it—him; the way he made her love him with those large brown eyes, his smooth voice, his strong arms. "Damn you, Remus." She echoed, her hair turning mousy brown, the color of his. "I can't wait for you forever. When you need me come find me."
Should I let you fall?
Lose it all?
So maybe you can remember yourself.
Can't keep believing,
We're only deceiving ourselves .
And I'm sick of the lie,
And you're too late.
"Dora, please. Don't go." She could hear him call out to her. Her back was turned to him and she desperately wanted to run into his arms. He was standing so close, if she had wanted all she would've had to do would turn around and touch him.
"I'm not doing this again. I'm done Remus." The words hurt to say, but she could no longer wait, it hurt too much. "Either you want me or you don't. I know you're hurting. Sirius is gone; the only one in my family, besides my parents who accepted me, and he's gone. I'm hurting too, but you can't see that. Look at you now, you're drunk."
"So you're going to leave, like everyone else has. Just like a child, like a little girl showing her age! Then get out Nymphdora! Get out!"Words slurred as he used her age against her. He reached around her, hitting the wall with a force that shook the door. A low howl erupted from his lips.
It hurt Tonks to hear him howl, he reminded her of a wounded animal, but she refused to turn around. He needed her though, he was so weak. Don't do it, Dora, don't. He'll just leave again. Her thoughts whispered in her head.
"I'm not the child here, Remus. You are." She placed a hand on the door knob, preparing to leave, the tears swelling in her eyes, which at the moment were ice blue to hide her pain.
You never call me when you're sober.
You only want it cause it's over,
It's over.
"I'm sorry…" He cried, head craning forward until she could feel his chin resting on her right shoulder. The alcohol smell was as evident as ever.
"You have to help me, Dora. Save me. Please. I can't do this without you. I'm nothing if you leave." He whispered, placing his paw like digits over hers, stopping her from turning the door handle.
So don't cry to me.
If you loved me,
You would be here with me.
Don't lie to me,
Just get your things.
I've made up your mind.
"You're nothing right now, but a drunken werewolf; a mere shell of the man I loved. You're going to have to save yourself without me, Remus. I'm done." The words cut like a knife through her own chest as she pulled away from him and disaparted, refusing to give him enough time to follow her. Tears streamed down her face as she did so.
