Hello there. Hm. I don't know how I feel about this. I don't write angst, but my best friend gave me a drabble prompt, and so this just kinda happened. I hope it's okay! .
Disclaimer: I don't own Hetalia, and this has nothing to do with the real countries in the slightest.
Okay, let's get this started.
Broken Symbiosis:
He was always there. Always ready to protect, always standing strong. When there was a stranger nearby, he would always stand between, acting as a barrier for his timid comrade. When there was battle, they would always have a plan, and he always had his blond ally's back. Whenever the Polish man was sad, or simply needed to hear himself talk, he always listened intently, and gave his friend a smile. They were able to make it through every challenge. Their stable bond of trust was unbreakable by everything that stood between them; they were like the best team. They were completely in sync.
But now, this man who was always there for his companion was gone. To be honest, the blond hadn't expected that day to end up as it did. He whole-heartedly anticipated his lovely, sweet, humble Lithuanian to be perfectly fine, to just come home the next day with a tired expression, ready for a nap. But, he never returned. That door never opened to a snow-flecked brunette boy, never to that pleasant smile. In the one moment Toris needed him most, Feliks had failed him. He was taken, and his blond friend had done nothing to stop it. Poland had ruined their symbiosis, obliterated their shatterproof bond with one simple joke.
Feliks didn't even know if they could repair the pieces of their broken relationship; he doubted they would ever mend this splintered union. He would try so desperately, but why on earth would Toris take him back? He had done nothing to help him, even after all the times Lithuania had been there for him. There was no possible way Toris would ever reciprocate the deep affections Poland had for him. It would be a miracle if he even spoke to Feliks again.
He knew for certain that they wouldn't be able to overcome this hardship, but Poland couldn't help his deep desire to correct his wrongs. He needed to have Lithuania's affections back. It was essential for him to revert back to the time when nothing was wrong between them. Feliks, however, recognized that this would never happen. The Polish nation stood, surrounded by others, and yet isolated in the fragmented memories of what was. Reminded constantly of what he could have done, what he should have done to save the only person who understood him. He would pick up the remains of their recollections, but will never be able to entirely restore their bond.
Ahhhh, that was weird to write. I feel bad. But, I hope you enjoyed it nevertheless. ^.^
