GUYS! This is super important! This story takes place at the beginning of Catching Fire, after Katniss has had her talk with President Snow. If you haven't read the 2nd book, you probably shouldn't read this. Just sayin'.

"Katniss," Peeta asked, coming out onto the lawn of my house in Victors Village.

"Hm? Oh, hey Peeta..." I said solemnly. I had just received the worst, even more so than Prim's name being picked for the games, news of my life. Now, I was pacing the front lawn.

"What are you doing out here? It's freezing!"

"um... just thinking..."

I walked to the door steps and sat down, leaning my head gently on my fists.

"What's up?" he asked, sitting down beside me and putting his arm around my shoulders.

"just... Bein' back, I guess. It's just hard to get used to all, this, again."

I didn't want to worry him.

"yeah, I know what you mean. Both my parents have been constantly freakin' out since I've been back."

"Oh. Mom and Prim are just happy to have a warm place to sleep and food in their tummies."

"I'm sure they'd never have to worry. They have my dad, and, Gale, isn't it, if we weren't here."

'We weren't here.' That meant he wouldn't leave me, or let me die. I hope that still went for now too, because I felt completely vulnerable against Capitol.

"and Gale could barely feed himself." I added, laying my head on Peeta's shoulder.

"What a good guy. How is he, anyways?"

I thought for a moment. I had only talked to him once since we had returned, and that had been odd to say the least, so I didn't really know. I stared blankly at Peeta. His blond hair shifted lightly in the wind, and snowflakes sparkled on his eyelashes.

'wow' I thought to myself. Peeta was truly handsome. Wait! What am I thinking? I don't really love Peeta! This is suppose to just be an act! But, why did I feel so, funny? It was like every thought in my brain was off-kilter. A train-wreck in my head.

"Hey, can we go inside? I think I'm about to freeze to death!"

"yeah, sure Peeta," I replied, taking his hand and bringing him inside. I wasn't that cold, but Peeta's hand was like ice.

I pulled a blanket over his shoulders and started a fire in the fireplace before sitting beside my fellow victor.

"So, did you need any thing, or-"

"no. I saw you pacing through the snow, and figured I'd see what's up."

"That's... very kind of you..."

"no problem. I have nothing to do these days!"

"Tell me about it."

Peeta laughed.

"No, I'm serious! Tell me, I'm bored."

"bored, or frazzled?"

"Frazzled." I replied, laying my head on his lap.

"I know, I know," he giggled, "don't kill the moment."

Heehee. I'll do more than that.
