Becca: The other story, 'It's worth another shot, isn't it?' (IWASII for short), isn't going so great, so I decided to upload this little fic that has been bugging me for a while.
Holli: Becca finally managed to get round to typing it up at 11:20pm, so sorry if it's not so great. But we hope you enjoy it anyway.
I don't own YuGiOh, unfortunately. But if I did, Puzzleshipping, Puppyshipping, Tendershipping and Bronzeshipping would be canon.
Bakura's POV
I drove home in my usual Jaguar c-xf, wanting to get away from school as quickly as possible. Marik Ishtar was flirting with me – again – and, ignoring me when I told him outright that I wasn't interested, threw himself on me, literally speaking. I utterly loathe him. I just wanted to get back home to my Xbox and my new COD game. It was just a pity his apartment was just across the corridor from mine.
Luckily, with my fast driving, I arrived back at the apartment building long before Marik, jumped out of my car, raced up the stairs, and ran inside my house. I slammed the door behind me with a loud crash, then ran past the tins of cat food. You may be wondering why I have cat food in my flat. And if you're not wondering, then congratulations, you aren't as dumb as I thought.
"Meow!" My mood changed instantly from sour to happy, and I knew I grew a smile as I turned my head and saw a familiar, fuzzy head.
"Meow!" My small — and favourite, not to mention, cutest — pet; my kitten named Ryou. He sat near the door, his long, white, tail swaying from side to side while his large, chocolate eyes inspected the rather messy hallway. I walked over to Ryou and kneeled down, while rubbing his favourite spot: The tiny spot under his left ear. He purred happily and flashed me his cute, kitten smile.
"Meow!" He pounced and licked my jaw line, I laughed silently.
He looked at me with wide, happy, sparkling eyes. He moved his head under my pale hand, rubbing it against my skin.
"Alright, alright! I'll play the song for you." He flashed another smile and followed me upstairs.
Ryou may be a slender cat, but he was completely clumsy. He would slip, but I would always manage to catch him with either my hands or my feet. And, he always wore that smile of apology for his clumsiness.
I opened the door to my snug, where I kept my guitar. I carefully picked my way across the messy floor, towards the end of the room, where my guitar was propped up against a table. Ryou rushed to the table, and jumped on to the top, but suddenly slipped. I quickly ran to my kitten's side and grabbed him before he was able to fall to the ground. Ryou shook his head quickly before flashing a smile of apology.
I just laughed again; Ryou was just adorable when he apologized. I scratched his head again and he made a sweet smile before jumping from my hands and curling up on the nearby sofa. I picked up my guitar, and started strumming. Ryou stared at my fingers, entranced.
I found Ryou when he was just a newborn kitten. He was lying outside my apartment building, here in Domino, soaking wet and shivering with cold, and I felt saddened by the fact that his mother abandoned him at birth. I felt a strange connection towards him; he always made me feel better, and seeing him almost brightened my day.
Becca: I know it's short, but Wha-Chow is on in a little while, and I don't wanna miss it.
Holli: If you want another chapter, then review! ^^
