There was a slight chill coming from inside the damp room, the annoying sound of a runny faucet giving him a headache. He was trying to perform his regular pray that he said before every sacrifice and the sound kept interrupting him.
He had actually half expected his victim to complain about how much money it was going to cost if he didn't shut it off.
Standing up, he hefted his large scythe over his shoulder, only after making sure it created a spark from the concrete floor. His lips twisted into a sadistic smirk when he caught sight of the heated glare being sent his way.
"Eh? What's wrong Kakuzu?" He asked in snide tone, towering over the room's other occupant. "I would expect you to have seen this coming."
Kakuzu began his muffled screaming and cursing around the gag shoved into his mouth, causing Hidan to laugh maniacally. "Give up, old man. No one will hear you." He snorted out, walking casually over to the table where upon the other hearts of Kakuzu lay.
At the end of the table was the largest one of them all. Hidan's nose wrinkled at the sight and cautiously poked at it with his finger, pulling back in disgust when it squished. "Geez Kakuzu." He started, mouth set in a displeased scowl. "Do you not know how to take care of your organ properly?"
Kakuzu chose to remain quite, biting down on the gag. He hadn't thought that the bastard would remove the rest of his hearts. He had underestimated Hidan in their fight.
"So how do you wanna go tonight, gramps?" Hidan sniffed, flicking a roach in Kakuzu's direction. He barely flinched when it landed on his forehead and Hidan burst into a guffaw, almost falling over.
Wiping a tear from his eye, Hidan grinned brightly over to his partner. "No answer? Want me to choose?" A cold chill ran up the old man's back and he swallowed, feeling a slight uneasiness come over him as the light reflected from Hidan's eyes and there was no sanity shown.
"Well, how about we have some fun, eh?" He asked, alreadt lifting up his scythe above his head. "This won't hurt but a-" He swung down the scythe, allowing the serrated end of the weapon to slice cleanly through the other's neck. "-bit."
Straightening up, he felt oddly out of place. He hadn't been able to do his ritual since he lost almost all of his chakra reserves during their fight. And he wasn't really used to that.
Staring down at the head on the ground, Hidan turned around and began walking up the steps of the cellar, wiping down his face with his sleeve.
"It's what you get for betraying me, Kakuzu." He muttered to himself, holding onto the rosary while walking down the cobble road, dragging his scythe around.
