Chapter #1

Sakura pushed open the wooden door, Yamato standing cautiously behind her peering into the pitch black room. Just barely, Sakura could see the outline of a figure standing in the darkness. She gulped and walked in apprehensively. What if he's Orochimaru…? Oh, please don't let it be him!

"Why have you come?" a deep, familiar voice said.

"Sas-!"

"Sakura! This could be a trap; keep your guard up." Yamato warned, kunai in hand.

"R-right…" She pulled out a knife of her own.

The deep voice came again. "Sakura…"

Sakura turned her attention to the figure in the shadows, "I-is that you, S-Sasuke…?" She chocked back happy, yet sorrowful sobs. She had found him! After so long of searching, I finally found him! Just wait 'til I tell Naruto…!

The figure stepped forward and strode out of the darkness. He didn't stop walking until he was right next to her, almost a head taller than she.

She looked up into his blank onyx eyes that were fixed on Yamato in a death glare. It was as if Sasuke were sending a warning to him to stay away from Sakura. In fear Sakura dropped her knife. She couldn't control a natural fear of Sasuke. "S-Sasuke…-"

"Who are you?" Sasuke demanded in a low, angry tone.

Sakura could feel his anger roll off him in waves, "Th-that's Captain Yamato…Kakashi-sensei's replacement…" It hurt her to say those last words, but she did.

"Kakashi…" Sasuke said in disgust. "Then… that other ninja I saw with Naruto must have been my replacement," he finished evenly.

"You've seen them here?" Sakura rushed the words out under shortening breath.

"Sakura," Yamato said, dragging her attention away from Sasuke. "Remember, this could be a trap. This might not even be the real Sasuke."

"So, you think I'm a fake sent by Orochimaru? A different person sent to try and take you out? That's ridiculous…" Sasuke said turning his attention to Yamato.

Sasuke silently gripped the handle of his sword.

"S-Sasuk-!" He cut her off, clasping her mouth with his free hand.

He pulled sharply on the hilt of his blade, bringing the entire sword out, and pushed Sakura out of the way as he began to charge at Yamato.

My editor was all, "You didn't put enough commas, you put commas where they shouldn't have been, you put so many ellipses that it looks like you raped the period (fullstop)-button, I can't understand the plot, yada-yada, nag-nag."

Whatever.

Anyway, if the story doesn't make sense now, keep going. It gets better, trust me!
