The Decisions We Make
When death is the only way out, do you sacrifice yourself or the only person you've ever loved?
The question taunts me as I stand in the midst of a man to man, good vs. evil showdown. Morgan has his gun trained on Foyet but it's no use; either way, one of us will die. Foyet has one gun in his left and one in his right, one trained on each of us. All Foyet has to do is pull the trigger and it'll happen. He could shoot the left or the right and at this point we're supposed to be making the decision; either way, I'll lose Hotch. Neither Hotch nor I want to let the other go but we reach a decision before sharing the briefest of kisses.
"So kids, who's it going to be?"
And as the gunshot rings out, I hope I've made the right choice because all I can hear are Hotch's pleas to spare me. Those noises fill my last moment on earth. Before I can complete my departure from this life, I hear "I love you Emily and I'm so sorry."
With a smile on my face at the admittance, I leave the world blissfully unaware of the chaos surrounding my death.
