A Pendragon Fanfic

Telleo lay wide awake in her bed thinking about her Mother, Sharr, who lay a few feet away, also awake.

"Mother," Telleo whispered. Sharr didn't move. For people who didn't know Telleo's Mum they would be fooled by her 'sleep' and her fake snores. Telleo knew her Mother, and her habits.

"Stop fooling around Mother," Telleo said, "I need to talk to you."

"Hmm," Sharr grumbled, "What is it, hun?" Sharr sat up and rubbed her eyes. What did her dear daughter want at 3:00am in the morning?

"Mum," Telleo sighed, "Where did you go this morning?"

"I went to see Jen Remudi, he'd hurt his leg and, of course, Siry wouldn't help him."

"Why didn't you tell me that this morning?" Telleo pressed, she was determined to get her suspicions confirmed. Sharr had been spending more time with Remudi than she was with Genj. She didn't wait for an answer from her mother.

"Mum, Do you like Remudi?" Telleo asked, flatly.

"Why, of course I like him! Remudi is my best frien-" Sharr was cut off by her daughter,

"I didn't mean it like that. I meant do you, you know, like-like him?" Sharr didn't answer for a while, but she sighed after a few minutes.

Sharr stood and walked over to Telleo's bed. She fondled her hair and hugged her tight,

"I love you, Telleo! I really do, but you come up with some crazy thoughts sometimes, hun!" She answered, laughing. She then continued,

"I love you and your father! I would give the world for you both!" Telleo held her mother close as Sharr kissed her forhead, "Come with me, precious! I've got to show you something!"

Telleo followed Sharr as she led the way out of her hut and into the dark streets of Rayne and up to Tribunal Mountain and into the private bedroom of Genj. Head of The Tribunal, Sharr's husband, Telleo's father and generally a very nice man.

Sharr walked up the stone steps holding Telleo's hand, still. The woman stopped at the top and knocked, there was a muffled answer,

"Hmm, who is it?" A tired voice called from inside the room,

"It's me, Genj," Sharr answered, gently, "And Telleo." The door opened slowly and there stood Telleo's father. He smiled weakly at his family, he was tired, and stressed. It had been a long and busy day in Tribunal Mountain.

"What's the matter, Dad?" Telleo asked, she was obviously concerned about his health.

"It's that Siry again, that's all," Genj answered, "He's been causing trouble again."

Telleo shot a look at Sharr, who returned her look with a questioning one, Why is Telleo so suspicious?" Sharr thought to herself, Jen is my best friend. Of course I spend time with him, Genj is always working.

Genj led the two women into the room and made them a small cup of tea.

"So," He finally said, "Why are you here, so early in the morning?"
