This is my second fanfic. It's a oneshot on Navi's thoughts as she leaves Link at the end of Ocarina of Time. Hope you enjoy it and I hope you read my other story as well! Please read and review! NO FLAMES PLEASE!!!

It was time to depart.
I was no longer needed in this life. I knew from the beginning of our quest that this moment would come. I knew that my destiny was not to live in a time of peace, but to aid a time of sadness until it saw peace. I knew that somewhere, there was someone who needed guidance.
And I knew that leaving would break his heart.
I, too, was heart-broken as I flew through the gates of time. I felt like I'd been torn apart and half of me was left behind. At the same time, I felt as if I was carrying half of another in my heart. Half of a partner, half of a pupil…
Half of a friend.
A true friend. A friend I didn't deserve. A friend who I should have never allowed myself to grow close with, knowing that I would break his heart in the end. I did not even say "Good-bye" as I left. I could not bear to say anything, for my sadness was too powerful. I could not let him see me leave in tears. So I flew, quickly and quietly. I flew beyond the deepest end of the Temple of Time. I flew to a new age, where I knew I had yet another duty to fulfill. I know that in my travels, I will meet with him again. He will not remember our adventure and I may not be the same as I was during our adventure, but I will always remember him. Just as I have remembered others I have left behind. Perhaps the next time we meet, I will merely serve as a rustle in the bushes that tells him there is a hidden clue within. Perhaps I will take on the role of a sage and aid him in destroying evil. Perhaps I will be a princess who must hide in his shadow. Perhaps I will even become a fairy once again, but my memories will be lost.
My name, is not Navi.
My name is Guidance. I was created to guide those in need. When they no longer need me, I must depart.
But I will always remember them. Just as I will always remember him…
"I love you, Link," I whispered as I flew through the window. Whether he heard me or not, I do not know. I do know that one day, we will meet again.

"Wait a minute! Hyrule's destiny? This'd better not be one of Mido's pranks!"
Do you know how much trouble Mido would get in if he pulled a prank like this?
"Well… Wait, this is for real?!"
Yes it is. Now let's get going!
"But I'm not ready for this kind of thing! I knew I was different but… What do I do? Please, help me!"
