The Queen's Jealousy

Rhyming Fairytale Poem

Queen's point of view from "Snow White"

I looked out the window to see Snow White dancing,

Leaping, singing, twirling and prancing.

What a foolish child to dance around all day long,

She thinks she is 'so'beautiful, amazing and strong.

I walked away from the window with a jealous look on my face,

I wish my hair like hers could be as silky as lace.

I then consulted with my mirror the third time today,

To then hear my beautiful voice say:

"Mirror, mirror on the wall,

Who is the fairest of them all?"

Then a picture of Snow White's face again appeared,

This gave me an idea that I had even feared.

"The girl must go, be dead, I don't care!

But, bring me back her heart so I can finally be most fair!"

The man tried to back out but I threatened on taking his life,

Then the man agreed and picked up his knife.

The next day, I waited for the man to finish the deed,

Oh, I'm finally going to be the fairest, Snow white deserved to be dead, indeed.

Later through the day he brought me back her heart,

To be sure I had the most beauty, left to do was one more part.

I went to the mirror and was full of hope,

If that man hasn't done as planned, I will hang him with a rope!

I then said with all my might,

Hoping to see my picture appear with a flash of light:

"Mirror, mirror on the wall,

Who is the fairest of them all?"

My face was full of shock to see,

That hideous girl's face smiling happily.

I threw the man in a cold, dark cell,

The heart wasn't Snow White's, but the heart of a gazelle.

There was only way, I had to kill her myself,

I went to my lair and went to the top shelf.

There was a potion that was right for the plan,

Not a monster, fairy, animal or man.

You see I would turn into an old hag,

And give Snow White a poison apple that would make her gag.

She would with one bite fall to the ground,

And be dead without even making a sound.

I would be the fairest of all the land,

And every handsome man would surely ask for my hand.

I gulped down the potion and started to laugh,

My age had surely increased by half.

Tomorrow would be Snow White's last day,

All her beauty would be taken away.

Turns out Snow White was living with seven little men,

Not eight, nine or ten.

When she was alone I sneaked up on her,

The main part of my plan was about to occur.

"Hello, young lady care for an apple?"

I said with a cackle.

"No thank you ma'm" Snow White replied.

"But I'm just a poor old woman." I dramatically sighed.

The foolish girl shrugged and took a bite,

Her head started to feel dizzy and began to lose her sight.

I laughed with joy as I saw her fall,

I started to run as I heard the dwarves call.

The little men cried and were very sad,

On the other hand I was extremely glad!

Some of the dwarves ran after me,

But there was no escape, I was doomed for eternity!

I was at the edge of the cliff and eventually fell down,

But even though I was going to die in a minute, I didn't wear a frown.

For I knew I died the most beautiful lady of the land,

It was the only truth I could stand.

Little did the queen know that Snow white had been saved,

A prince had saved her with true loves kiss, and was indeed very brave.

The Queen dies thinking she was the most beautiful and the best.

When Snow White had truly again become the most pretty from all the rest.

As the Queen died with joyful laughter,

Snow White survived and had a happily ever after.
