Here's the first part to Times of Change. This isn't the whole first chapter (hince the teaser), but rather all that I have ready at the moment. It was really nagging at me to put something up on here even thought it's not done. I'll get the rest up when I can so don't rush me. Enjoy!

Zack Fair, Solider 1st class, was on the 49th floor of the Shinra building. He was gazing out on the city of Midgar, with the many broken spires and multitudes of cranes of a city still under construction. There was a single mako reactor piecing the skyline in the distance. Zack was, however not paying any of it much attention. His arms were folded behind his back and there was a troubled look on his face as he absentmindedly tracked the slow monotonous movements of the construction cranes completing their tasks

"Hey, Zack, what's the matter with you?" Cloud Strife asked as he looked up from his lunch, with a bit of noodle hanging from his chin, noticing the look on his new-found friend's face

"Huh, wha-." Zack started as he was shaken from his reverie, a startled look on his face. "Oh, sorry Cloud." He replied, shaking his head as he turned around and took the seat directly across the table from his friend "I know that it's already been three months…, but I still haven't completely gotten over Angeal's death." They ate in silence for a few moments, a silence which was finally broken by Cloud.

"There was nothing you could do about it." he said between mouthfuls "Anyways, he started the whole ordeal, and anyway that you look at it he wanted you to stop him from actually becoming what he feared he would."

"I know… I know that he wanted me to do that. But what if I wanted you to do that the same thing, would you do it? No matter how much of a monster I had actually become?!" Zack exclaimed as he jumped out of his seat and slammed his hands on the table, the polished metal giving away as though it was putty. "Would you?" Zack's piercing blue eyes had a look in them that could burn a hole thought ten feet of titanium and still keep going.

Cloud was taken aback by Zack's sudden change in emotions. "Even if I wanted or needed to do that kind of thing, I doubt that I could, you would probably end up ripping me to shreds. You're in Solider an' everything and here I am, just a stupid infantryman, I mean look at what you did to the table, without even trying!" he gestured towards the recently fashioned dents in the once smooth table. Folding his arms behind his head while he leaned back in his seat.

"Yea you're probably right." A sigh escaping his lips as he sat down, moving away from the freshly twisted portion of the table. "Still, I've known him since the first day that I joined Soldier and he was the only 1st that ever actually had anything to do with me. It's really hard when you're forced to slaughter the one person that stood by you since day one, even if that's what they wanted." Swirling his drink around his glass he continued; "I don't really know what to do anymore..."

Tell me what you think about this and if you see any chance of it getting off of the ground. I'll put the rest of this chapter up as soon as I can, so be patient!
