Jen stared at Luke for the longest minute.
"What?" He said. "Your joke," Jen answered, "It was horrible." Luke looked a little hurt, but then he said, "Yeah, my brother Mark made it up. I mean…"
Jen grinned. "'So it was an average day, and I was talking to a dragon slayer. I pointed to the dragon behind me, with the word MOM on it and I said, 'if you slay this dragon, you're my hero!'" Jen mimicked.
"Hey! It's not my fault Mark is an awful joke maker up person…er…"
"Basically that mom's tough," Jen said. "Yeah…hey, let's make more cookies," Luke said. "All right, but it's your fault if Dad comes home. Or even sees us," Jen shivered at the thought.

Jen suggested to Luke they go online to check the latest things. Like the weather, so Luke could risk his life more often coming over.
"Ah, tomorrow's sunny. Eighty degrees. You think your old pops will be outta town?" Jen asked.
"I don't know. He might be buying more pigs, but he won't be outside. I know that. After the Government took our hogs, Dad is restless to finding new ones. I tell you, Jen," Luke went on, "Dad won't stop looking. He's willing to pay a fortune. After all, we are getting paid for those hogs." Luke said.
"That's unfair," Jen murmured. "Why?" Luke asked. "How are you going to make money with the hogs, getting paid by the Government, if the Government takes them away? Didn't you try doing hydroponics?" Jen asked.
"We did. The Government said no, because they're too afraid we'll grow tobacco or something like that. They think so negatively."
Luke looked out the window, still searching for the sunshine. But he saw more than that…
Tune in next time, while I submit the most I can do...basically, stick around for my series.
