Ahiru's Miracle

Ahiru's Miracle

Mukashi Mukasi….

There was a knight and a ballerina, no, that's not right

There was a writer and a girl No, it's still not right

There was a boy and a duck, who wanted a happy ending also…

"AHIRU!!" Fakir lunged upward in his bed, and fumbled to turn the light on.

A small 'quack' was heard as Ahiru looked sleepily upwards at a frantic Fakir, silently asking the question that he needed to hear.

'Are you ok?' Although he couldn't exactly understand her quacks, he got the meaning.

He nodded and leaned down to pick her up.

"Are YOU ok?" she gave a slight nod and he breathed a sigh of relief, she looked up into his eyes and once again asked a question with her quacks.

'what was all that about?!'

"I was dreaming, but I was writing your story, and when I was done, you were human, and you had lost your memory, I'm so sorry, I didn't want that to happen, I don't want to write your story only to have you forget me, Ahiru, are you ok?"

Ahiru had begun to glow a soft yellow color, and in a flash of white, Ahiru the Duck was gone, replaced by Ahiru the Girl.

"A-Ahiru?" Fakir could barley keep his voice steady.

"Fakir? W-What happened? I was sitting in your arms, then…" Her voice drifted off, and she suddenly went red and dove under Fakir's covers, all the while, kicking him out.

"Hey! What's the big deal? That's MY bed!" She glared up at him and said slowly, as if explaining something to a three-year-old.

"Fakir? What happens to my clothes when I go from duck to human?" His eyes widened and he turned red.

"Oh." It was more of a dejected sigh then an answer.

"Well then now that we have cleared this up, can I borrow a shirt please?" He nodded, and went to his closet and extracted a long shirt, throwing it to Ahiru, he then turned and whispered.

"I'm glad your back." Ahiru paused in putting on his shirt, and smiled, pulled the rest of the shirt over her head and walked softly to Fakir's back. She put her arms around his back from behind, and held him as he started to say something.

"I don't know what happened, but I never want this to end, ok? Please don't let me wake up, and please god, DON'T let this be a dream." Ahiru smiled and turned his head back and letting him go, so he could turn with his head.

"Silly, this isn't a dream, cause would dream me do this?" She smiled and pulled him closer to where their noses were touching and Fakir pushed her closer to him and kissed her.

"No. But I seriously hope your staying for a while. I get awfully bored with no one to hang around and all that you know since I never had anyone to ha-" He was cut off by Ahiru who, to shut his ramblings up, kissed him again.

"Get some sleep, ok? When you wake up in the morning, I'll still be here when you wake up, ok?" Ahiru pushed Fakir back into bed and hummed a song that faintly sounded like 'Oh Danny Boy'.

"Good-night, Fakir, I love you… If only in my dreams."

Fakir Jumped up in alarm as he was jolted awake by a Quacking in the corner. He burst out crying as he saw Ahiru curled up in the corner, still a duck, and asleep.

But, what he seemed to miss as he drifted off to an unwilling sleep, was the shirt that was laying right next to Ahiru on her bed.

Well folks, that's all for this one-shot, I'll post more soon…. R&R please
