A/n I was watching CM reruns and I saw the one were Garcia was shot and the one where Rossi was looking into that 20 yr old case and I thought this up when I saw Kevin. This is just a scene that I think was missing after all the team is really close and they would feel the need to do this.
Kevin watched in fear as the four men who in the room and did nothing but look at him. He was eager for at least one of them to say something so that he didn't have to imagine what they would do anymore. It really didn't help his nerves any that they were in Rossi's office with the shades down so in effect it was an interrogation room. Even the usually meek looking Spencer Reid looked as tough as the other BAU men.
"So Kevin," Rossi finally spoke as he stood from his seat on the end of the desk, "I hear that you have a certain interest in tech analyst that we are all acquainted with."
Kevin gulped. The man sounded nothing but polite but for some reason that was scarier than him yelling. "That's right." he responded from his seat on the chair.
"Now you understand that we have to take certain precautions correct?" Hotch said in a tone that was quite similar to Rossi's.
Kevin nodded hurriedly.
"Baby Girl is like family to me and to this whole team and with the recent scare she gave us we've grown so much more protective of her." Morgan said emerging from his spot in the corner of the room,
Spencer, who was sitting in the only other chair that was across from Kevin, folded his arms on the desk. "I never had much of a family and until I worked with the BAU I didn't have many friends either. So I would do anything to protect my family. Even though I may look like the textbook geek," Reid's voice took on a hard edge here, "I am a certified FBI agent and I have passed a weapons certification test."
"Now Kevin you seem like a decent guy but if you hurt her... Well I know some people that are very good at making problems disappear." Rossi said with a slight smile.
All three of the others merely looked at him and he knew without a doubt that something bad would befall him if he did something to hurt Penelope.
Suddenly the door opened and the men looked as innocent as a summer day. Rossi was slightly grinning, Morgan was outright smiling, Reid made sure he looked slightly ditzy, and Hotch was impassively neutral.
It was then that Kevin found that these guys were first class actors.
"Ready to go Kevin?" Garcia asked.
Kevin stood and hurried out the door with her.
Left alone with the rest of the males on the team Reid asked "Do you think we got our point across?"
"Yes," Answered Hotch. "Even in the event that we didn't get through to him J.J. and Prentiss are waiting for him back at his place."
