The Mask Ceremony
One morning, I woke up all excited and climbed off of my brothers. Master Splinter mentioned that my brothers and I would be getting colored masks today which is pretty exciting, especially for two year olds.
Just then, my brothers woke up and Master Splinter came out with juice boxes and scrambled eggs. We ate the eggs and drank the juice like we were starving since all of use were looking forward to getting our colored masks.
"All right, my sons," Splinter said once we were finished our breakfast. "It is now time to receive your masks. I request that you follow me to the dojo so your gift will be received."
We followed Master Splinter to the dojo. All of us were impressed as soon as we got in there.
Master Splinter went over to a corner of the dojo and picked up a small box. When he came back over to us, we saw the colored masks inside the box.
My brothers and I were really excited. For some reason, we were also a little nervous.
Master Splinter walked over to Leo. He pulled the blue mask from the box.
"Leonardo, full of loyalty, I give you the blue mask," Master Splinter said while tying the blue mask on Leo's head.
Master Splinter walked over to Raph. He pulled the red mask from the box.
"Raphael, full of strength, I give you the red mask," Master Splinter said while tying the red mask on Raph's head.
Master Splinter walked over to Donny. He pulled the purple mask from the box.
"Donatello, full of knowledge, I give you the purple mask," Master Splinter said while tying the purple mask on Donny's head.
Master Splinter walked over to me. He pulled the orange mask from the box.
"Michelangelo, full of joy, I give you the orange mask," Master Splinter said while tying the orange mask on my head.
Master Splinter gathered all of us in his arms and we returned the gesture. After we released each other, Master Splinter told us that we would start training tomorrow and we followed him out of the dojo.
A few minutes later, my brothers and I were snuggled up together on the floor near the sofa for a nap. Eventually, Master Splinter covered us with a blanket, sat down on the sofa, and my brothers and I fell asleep.
