"Do it right!"
"I'm sorry! I'll try harder!"
"You better! I'm not going to give you anything until I'm satisfied with the work."
"Okay, fine. Satisfying enough for you now?"
"YES!"
Alfred sighed, climbing down from the latter. He had been up there for hours, just trying to put at least one stupid star on the tree. But no. Everything had to be perfect for Arthur, which is why he had to keep fixing it.
Arthur was frankly sick and tired of Alfred's whining. If the bloody yank had just let him do it himself it would have been done correctly the first time. But Alfred's pride would be wounded apparently.
"Anything else you wanna complain about?"
Arthur rolled his eyes. "Yes. Lose some weight."
Alfred glared at him. "I'm perfectly not overweight thank you."
"I'm sure you are. In your mind. In reality, that's a lie."
"You can't even tell reality and mind apart! You talk to fairies!"
Arthur looked at him, in shock. "They are bloody real! You're just mad because you can't see them."
How dare Alfred insult his winged friends like that. Especially since he could see them when he was younger. When he was innocent and pure that is.
Alfred rolled his eyes. "Please. I never saw fairies. Heroes aren't delusional."
"Sure they aren't... Just help me set the presents. The others will be coming soon." Arthur said walking over to the small pile of gifts.
Alfred walked over and took each present setting them skillfully under the tree.
Christmas had always been his favorite holiday of the year. Aside from his birthday. That was important.
Decorating like this though was fun. Each year they went all out on Christmas. Sure, they put up a few things for Halloween and Easter, but Christmas is when the most would be done.
The lawn would house many decorations while the windows would be outlined in lights. The door would be hanging bells and small stick on jelly like things to show the Christmas spirit. Inside the house the ceiling would be littered in streamers and balls, with balloon bunches here and there.
For once the plain stairs would hold lights and streamers to give it some look of life.
Christmas was by far his favorite holiday. Especially since he was spending it with Arthur.
While Alfred was in his own world, Arthur had brought out a tray of cookies to set on the table. He took a look around and smiled seeing everything perfect as he wanted it to be.
As they waited, slowly the others started to arrive and share their happiness with everyone. They all sat and opened their gifts falling into peaceful talk with each other.
Because no matter what, there's holiday spirit in everyone's heart. Everyone shares with those they hold dear, because it means telling them how much you care.
