Yugi was thinking hard about the choice he was going to make. It would change his life forever. He couldn't figure out what to do.
He talked to his grandfather, Joey, Tristan, Tea, Ryou and even Kaiba. It was tearing him apart inside.
He knew Yami knew what was going on and that he was troubled as well.
Yugi couldn't imagine the results his choice would make. They were too horrible to think about.
"Either way, no one wins. What's the point of this stupid choice anyway?! It'll just ruin life anyhow!"
Yugi sighed. He was being selfish. 'Of course I know what's best for him but am I ready to let go?'
He sighed again.
Ryou was having the same problem, although, Ryou said that he had already made up his mind. Yugi knew that if he thought it through he would definitely change his mind.
/Yami?/ //Yes, aibou?// /Can I speak with you?/ //okay//
Yami appeared next to his other. "What is it, Aibou?"
"What do you think I should do?"
"That is for you to decide. I can not make that decision for you. Follow your heart. It will guide you down the right path. I will support you no matter what you choose to do."
Yugi nodded and embrace his dark, tears falling down his cheeks.
"Why Yami?! Why do we have to choose?! I like everything the way it is! I don't want anything to change!"
"Nor do I, aibou. None of us wants anything to change but we can not control fate.," Yami told the small boy, stroking his hair.
"What will happen?"
"I don't know little one. It is late. You need to get some rest."
Yugi nodded.
Yami carried his hikari to his bed and tucked him in.
"Please stay, Yami," Yugi begged.
Yami smiled.
Yugi moved over and allowed Yami to climb in.
Yami wrapped his arms around the boy and pulled him close. His crimson orbs gazed into Yugi's violet ones. "I will not let anything happen, I promise."
"Please don't. I couldn't bear it if anything did."
"Rest now."
Yugi nodded and closed his eyes.
Yami sighed. His promise was an empty one. "I am sorry, my little angel.............
